Was before Arkadia was introduced so one of their pistols might be a better goal, I havent compared them lately, also skill prices may have droped some since then as well.

 

The ambu you were avoiding shouldnt be a problem at all with that setup, and would allow you more freedom to go where you want while mining.

 

I started out as a miner and then started skilling hunting so I could become a better miner and since then have got the killer's bug and havent really done alot of mining since then except for short 1 month stints at a time.
