My D3 beta experience

I've seen so many D3 threads here on MMORPG that I thought I should make my own! Most of the ones around here are very negative though, mine isn't. 

I am a BIG D2 fan. I found it to be like a guilty pleasure. Cause if you think about it, its like eating a chocolate. Very sweet and awesome in short burst, but it really its an empty delight that is composed of nothing fullfilling. D3 its just like that for me, albeit what I saw in the beta. Its really not meant to be a deep, thought provoking game ala an MMO. Its a game that you play the story once and then just jump in for the loot afterwards.

Its a dungeon crawler at its heart. The point is to kill stuff and get loot. Its simple and to the point and SUPER fun if you don't try and look for something more than that. I think that's where so many folks here are so critical, the MMO gamer is usually critical of anything that isnt an MMO or RPG.

I also don't see how many people say its so different from D2 and that its a shame Blizzard did this game. Lets be honest, its the EXACT same formula. Sure, a few things are a bit dumbed down, or different, but they really arent in the core of the game. The dungeon crawling, loot grabbing formula is exactly the same. Compared to big changes in other games, Dragon Age 2 Im looking at you, this is a very small change or at the very least the changes aren't in the core. And to be even more frank, D2's skill system, for example, wasnt very elaborate in the beginning.

So, at least for me I know Im getting this game and enjoying it for what it is....a very sweet chocolate

Same opinion here OP. I just want to sit down, get on Skype with my friends, kill some shit, and get some lootz. Nothing more, nothing less.

im jealous i wanted to try it out this weekend good to know it is fun for people. Cant wait to play going to try the demo when it comes out.
