Interested in trying this game or Darkfall out more deeply.

Ok I see a lot of talk about corrupted GM. But how is the gameplay?

Can you build on the world like Starhawk? Or does it use preloaded build spots, that are already taken? No fun in a sandbox game if you can't build right? I would like to build in the game. Can this be done?

Also seems like PvP is a huge theme in sandbox MMO. Does the PvP ruin the PvE gameplay? Not that I hate PvP, but I wouldn't want PvE sacrificed to PvP gameplay.

On the subject of PvP. Can I jump in the game, and be useful to teammates in PvP?

With PvP theme of sandbox MMO, are there always large wars like Planetside 2 will have, or do fights usually consist of small groups and gank squads?

I honestly wat to recommend darkfall to you, but it doesnt seem to me like your wanting to have to wait a considerable amount of time before being pvp ready and i feel MO would be better viewed once the big exapnsion has been launched especially if you plan on doing some form of write up which most people would prefer was after this big expansion.

In MO its kind of mixed, there are build spots ingame but some things do not require build spots to build and its esentially a proof of concept and they plan on moving everything to freeplacement at a later date. For housing there are build spots of which theres alot of them with new ones every major patch.

In MO the ai is so basic that the pvp is the main focus and nobody plays the game for just pve, the expansion brings with it a supposedly advanced ai that will change all this but if your playing MO then you either enjoy pvp, griefing, crafting or trade at present. The PVE is just a distraction every now and then. But on occasion during events GM's take control of monsters giving them life like intelligence and making them a real challenge.

To create a fully pvp ready char in MO going at it casually but knowing what your doing it can be done within 2 weeks, if you power do it then less than 1 week. But in terms of actually being useful in pvp that would depend on you since its mostly down to actual player skill so if you suck then a veteran whos naked is going to beat you most likely since he knows what hes doing. Simply knowing the terrain around you increases your effectiveness in group pvp dramatically.

In MO its mostly small groups, think of each guild as a house. They bicker and fight on occasion and argue over who did what until it eventually esculates into an actual war. wars have ocnsisted of a few hundred players taking part in various battles with over 100 people in them each. Going on for weeks. Some succesful others not so much. when you see a full army moving across the land towards its target it can be a scary and impressive sight as oyur outside on a crafter picking fruit for your alchemist or cook only to have na army coming towards you passing you by.

there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
