    This part not so much.

Content felt like it was very repetitive. As an example, I came across an event in the Charr starting areas three consecutive times while I was passing by the 'happening' area. However, I believe that the day is saved due to the dynamic attribute of these events and to the late game content offered by the larger scale Meta-Events. Although I have to guess about that, since we had not been able to witness one of those first hand.

That's in regards to Dynamic content which makes sense.  Hopefully scalling will help this but everything can't be perfect.

    errr

    -          That GuildWars 2 incorporates the BuyToPlay (b2p) model? Like its predecessor before it, it has no monthlysubscriptionfees. Which, in my opinion, is the main reason why GuildWars 2 will upset the waters of its category. When a company does not create a game on the basis of how it will earn more money from its players each month, it is free to experiment any way it likes when it comes to gameplay and in-game mechanics.

    Agreed all around.

Great post. Confirms my thoughts of how great I think this game will be - and thats from an unfinished beta.  Seems ArenaNET really believes in their product and gives the sense that they plan to support it with updated content for the future - which is a plus.

I still believe it will be a (much needed) 'upset' to the MMO market, and hope it will press other AAA MMO developers/publishers to support something different.

    27 hours and counting....

I dont think the author was a native english speaker.  I saw him to mean because ArenaNET is not focused on satisfying a subscription base, they can use those resources to experiment/improve their game mechanics.

    What is still missing?

Apparently, Guild Wars 2 is not finished yet. So I made up a list of features that I would be very happy to see it make it in the game, eventually. The developers did ensure me that some of these will indeed, in the released build. Now then, what is still missing from Guild Wars 2?

    -          The game is not optimized yet. The core of the graphics engine has been designed to run on Nvidia VGAs, while the ATI optimization is yet to be done some time before the game is released. If the game does not run on the FPS you’re expecting it to, based on your computer’s specifications, during the coming BWE do not get mad. The developers have not cheated you. Give them the time they need to get perfect before release.

Thats because Nvidia has their drivers optimised for the game, and AMD does not yet.

    -          There is no in-game clock. When you play MMO games, typically time flies. Moreover, some Dynamic Events only occur during the daytime or nighttime (in game-time terms). As a consequence, being able to tell the time is very important and should be displayed in some place of the UI - both the real time and the game time.

Might be quite easy and neccesary to add this

    -          I would like to see an option to Party Travel make it in the game. Perhaps I'm spoiled by similar features in the original Guild Wars, but on the other hand I find it quite handy if not necessary, in certain occasions.

A great Idea which can be easilly added after release.

    -          Finally, the area that clearly needs more work is the game's camera. The maximum zoom out distance is very small. This problem is mostly evident during battles, where you are forced to look on your character's back. You do not have a wide and general view of what is happening around you. I count as an additional con to this the absence of first person view.

On this one i disagree, it may seem like a burden to you, but to me it actually sounds like an extra skill required to excell in the game. Camera handling.

If these are all the negatives he can think off, he must be hyped about the game for sure.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

He points out that it's a starting area which means tutorial for the most part.

It is known that tutorial events will repeat for everyone that starts so everyone can start the game properly.

After you leave that area the dynamic events set it that can chain with each other leading to other events additionaly to the world changing meta events and your personal story ones.

tutorial events are in a separate instance just it, you wont see that event anymore after you have done it at lvl 1

maybe I read it wrong but that instance includes you and every other NEW player so while it is a separate instance from the main world it is not YOUR personal instance so yes, the events will play over and over

this is a correct statement but from everything I have seen it is a unique situation to that area and probably will be toned down. I think it is one thing we need to test and look at this weekend. Even the Asura preview described a completely different situation(events were there but always different). I did find that for the charr once I moved out of the 1-6 area this wasn't the case.. but damn were the events on overdrive in the 1-6 area =P

Events in a starter zone will seem pretty simple.  They are teaching the event system, just like they have to teach the skills system, navigation system, crafting and gathering, personal story... all at the same time.  Think of events in the starter area like the first skill on a skill bar.  Something to build on as you get farther into the game.

    Charr: Outta my way.
    Human: What's your problem?
    Charr: Your thin skin.

That is some sweet spin there.

Lack of options mean extra skill.
