Should there be more to the forums right now?

So I got the email a few days ago about this weekend, downloaded the client etc... In the email (and when I load the client) it has a link to go to the beta forums. Awesome, sometimes there is some nice stuff to read there.

When I log in all I see is "News and Announcements". Now I recall one thing mentioning I wouldn't be able to post until friday, but am i also not allowed to read the actual forums until friday or am I missing something?

I belive forum opens when the beta goes live.

    "Loading screens" are not "instances".
Your personal efforts to troll any game will not, in fact, impact the success or failure of said game.

    Whats wrong with these forums?

....I mean besides the fact people click "Recent Posts" way too often and then get pissy when none of the recent posts are about THEIR game so they just pee in the most popular bowl of cornflakes.

That's sort of funny but also sort of annoying considering my post had none of the exaggerated emotional responses you are referring to. Why don't we keep things mature and civilized as long as possible?

I would imagine a beta forum would have posts going far back, and it would have a larger concentration of posts from people who actually have access to the game, as opposed to some people going off speculation with a small smattering of people who have played it. Therefore the ratio of useful content to not useful content would be higher. Just a guess/hope.

    Irony.

Oh and back on topic. In the email it says the following:

"Click here to go to the "Getting Started" thread in our beta forums, where you can download the beta client and learn important information about the upcoming weekend event. You can log in to the forums using the same User ID and password that you created when you registered your Guild Wars 2 account. Please note that you will only be able to browse the forums for now. Commenting and posting will not be enabled until the Beta Weekend Event begins."

I think it is just funny that they say you can browse the forums, but not comment...but then all there is in the forums is an "announcements" page. What would you want to comment on?

Whats wrong with these forums is people don't read the OPs question.

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

The GW2 forum itself tell's you the answer to this very question. I suggest you revisit it and look around a bit.

Interesting...can you give me a hint? Does it have to do with the "Learn more" button? Cause when I click on that nothing happens. Also the "How to use these forums" doesn't do anything when I click on it either.

Login to the forums page linked in your email. You should see a big red notification in the middle of the page. It says "Look no further! Click HERE!'. Click on the link that says 'click here'. BAM, you're in the beta forums (the part we have access to at least. There's not a lot there, it's mostly just to help / reassure players that are about to participate in the BWE. No discussions, just info atm.

I don't have that big red notification. When I log in I Just have Welcome in big black letters under that Learn More in red letters (but when I click on that it doesn't do anything) and then I can click on "News and announcements"
