Official launch day June 1st?????

Looked over the past few pages of threads, nothing current about speculative release dates.

 

Trying to think about prior MMO's, and from the time of their initial open beta until the release date, how long was it? I can barely remember what I had for dinner much less OB to Launch day ratios.  Can anyone of you uber geeks out there give us some prior MMO's  avg timeline? Break it down?

Also, whats with the NO OFFICIAL LAUNCH DATE GIVEN but preorders are up without it? Seriously, whats the MO behind that? Why would ANET do that? To guarantee sales volume without giving free 'looks' at the game?????

 

Yes I preordered, yes I'll be playing this weekend....Just wondering everyones opinion on those two things are......

    glad you pre ORDERED a game and will be in BWE.. and that you know so little about the game you think it has a sub.

    not at all also there isn't a release date yet anything you have seen is a placeholder.

    Edit: or should I say "Ask SWTOR if sales=subs"

    a problem is that there are many different types of beta. what you are calling open beta is not the same as open beta in other games.

     

    i did see a chart once of prepurchase dates for MMOs and release dates and using the very little information it had and some statistical software i use often i found the bulk of the probability for release to be in late may/early june.

    but that was of course on an extremely limited and possibly not applicable data set.

    and that is probably the best you will get!
