This post would have been better if you explained why you liked it amongst other things, instead you compare it to GW2 to gain attention and start another TERA vs GW2 argument? Yes it is in better shape, It was released about a year ago in Korea.

To say the PvP is more meaningful than GW2 is out of line though, even on GW2's first BWE the PvP is far more meaningful than what TERA has.

    Yes I've played both games.

GW2 pvp sucks end of story

just another 1-2-3-4 spam skills with an evasion skill big deal..hated it...same boring pvp  like most mmo's

    tera crush gw2 pvp easily

just that it is free aim for EVERY SINGLE THING is just enough...unlike gw2 wich its still tab target overated system

You know its better if you try that again with some actual arguments rathen than rants...just saying image

I actually thought Tera would be a decent game, but the game is an absolute snorefest.  Same old game as every other with a new paint job.  They need to raise the difficulty level on the game exponentially, it's just not challenging unless you aggro multiple mobs. And the combat is soooooo slooooooow, do they need to give a 3 second tell to alert people they should dodge?

It's unfortunate that the one part of the game that they are suppose to have improved so much, is really the biggest failure.

Those are my thoughts as well.

This sounds like it came from someone who played til lvl 11.  The game ramps up quite substantially fighting massive monsters with groups of people both in dungeons and for world quests/BAM hunting.  The group combat is simply unmatched.  Sorry you didn't give it a chance though.

Now I may have been misinformed here but I was told that stats like attack speed effect those delays.  I assume its correct as when I watch videos of higher level characters they do their moves much faster than I do.

I bound those keys to alt+1-5, the UI / controls are completely customizable. Not sure what your deal is.

I sure did. I would never use F1-5, too out of reach for me. I prefer alt / ctrl modifiers.

Tbh tera should be a good game. Its been out long enough that many changes could be made to accommodate NA players. I don't understand the logic of some players comparing a game thats been out since 2011 to a game that is not only in beta but has not yet been given an official release date.

Oh rofl I figured you were talking about Tera. Not sure about GW2, I just knew Tera starts off with the upper level of keys as F1-5.

Tera launched in korea in jan 2011. You are comparing a 1.5 yrs retail game to one in current beta.

Comparing beta to beta, GW2 kick the crap out of tera.

Meaningful pvp? This is a joke right?

    Have fun paying sub.

I had serious intrest in Tera.  I tried GW2 beta and i thought it was just fine.  The only reason why i am not playing Tera is because Diablo 3 is out in 2 weeks.

Had to choose 1 to devote my time to, and Diablo 3 wins till GW2.   Im glad to hear Tera will be a great game, maybe if D3 bombs ill give it a shot.

If Tera didnt come out 2 weeks before D3. Id be all over it, along with many of my friends.

Just to be clear about this .... what are we talking about?

The actual game features or the wishful thinking of the players?

Because people think the "tera political system" is going to be awesome, stopping famine , world hunger and cancer... when in reality is :

    1 ) vote a guild leader

    2) the game then assigns the provinces to the guilds based on the votes received

    3) move some npc around in your province, your guild has a special mount for a month, the winning guild has some special quests

    rinse and repeat

Don't forget collecting taxes from the provinces vendor sales. Last time I checked money was important lol

Just not worth my time anymore.

Hehe, I cant speak for TERA, but you obviously NEVER played a meaningful PVP/Political MMO, I wish I could go back to 2003 and Lineage 2. When we used to charge people outside our alliance of guilds ( this was all on paper there was no alliance support at all in game ) to go hunting on the high end spots.  Where people didnt go into a certain area unless we autorized it, ofc there were rogue areas which we didnt care about but certain territory was defacto controlled by us and we dictacted the rules.

Bounties aswell, there was this guy who was pretty famous for hoping between sides when it was of convinience I remember he had a bounty of 2 million adena back then, he was so griefed he ended up paying us around 5 million to be taken of our black list. Even the chinese farmers paid us so we didnt kill them and allow them to farm at some times.

All we had back then was the ability to attack anyone and kill them, turning red ofc, its all about the political meta game and the gameplay allowing you to physically enforce your rule.

Except all the best end game stuff will come from instances.   You can't really enforce anything if people just hide away inside personal instances.

LOL yeah but this only works in a game where you can and want to camp a spot.

In Tera you gain the best equipments in dungeons and you even get a crossserver LFD + teleport. Not to mention you have instanced channels.

Nice try but this is exactly why i'm saying Tera is lacking owpvp objectives to control.

  • Deron_BarakDeron_Barak Member Posts: 1,136
Can you provide a link saying the best gear only comes from instances? As I understand there are a few ways to get the "best gear" and I'm not sure how they are stated for PvP.

Last night while on the broker I noticed the same chest piece had multiple secondary effects, one if which was PC defense. This was a level 17 item I believe.

Before making assertions about end game let's make sure we have a. All and b. Correct information.

Just not worth my time anymore.
