This is the single issue that could break this game. People do not want to spend 5-10 mins trying to get into the same instance of a zone to play with their friends.
Really? Do you realize this is the amount of time you would be sitting in a server queue in other games? In stead, they are allowing you to play the game while you would traditionally be watching your server time tick down. I think this is awesome.

No. I'd rather they make it so my party members can come to the same overflow.
Do you guys realize that without overflow servers, you'd be staring at what number you are in queue, waiting to play the game? I mean I know you're frustrated that you can't play with your gf/bf/friends while on the overflow but to say that overflows will kill this game, seriously? It's a moot point now though as they said it will be fixed so that you can be together with your party in the overflow at launch but I'm not sure you all understand the reason there even is an overflow. It's an awesome feature.
I'm not sure if you can view it without an account, so here:

hey guys,
what i noticed while playing the open beta that is extremely difficult to play whit mates if the area is full. when we get sent to a overflow server we never end up at the same server. so i cant play whit mates in that area. this is not handy and need to be fixed someway.
has anyone else had this problem or did we get unlucky
Rob Thody (GW2 official guy)
This is a known issue by our development team and will be investigated.
Thank you!
Edit: and there are plenty of others where they talk about it. If you want more proof, I can probably squeeze some more research out.
Not sure what is the better excuse: Open many servers on demand in the beginning, then merge them or call the rest trial servers, or call the servers "overflow servers" from the beginning?
What do you think?
We still haven´t solved the no.1 issue on this, and of course we won´t with any todays game: people hop in it, play for a week or a month, then move to the next game.
What was the difference between B2p and P2P again?

No that was good enough thank you. Been searching the beta forums and was in quit a few of the "overflow" threads myself and didn't catch an official response. Thanks much!

Well you seem to be under the assumption that going into an overflow server will not be a common occurrence. What if it is? I haven't been able to find enough information from Anet about it. However the links provided by others here have shown that Anet is going to fix it so that parties will not get split up. If they do that the issue is pretty much solved.

Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.
I play MMOs specificly to interact with other gamers. What is the player cap for a region? Is chat common to all over flow zoens?
I really do not like the idea of limiting player number sin this way.
