These forums are only good to have a chuckle. The forums rarely have anything good to say about any game and are full of negatives. I could go back to 5 years or more and there were posts saying WOW was about to fail. Now it's how SWTOR is fail and yet it is the 2nd most subbed western MMORPG.
What makes a game the best MMORPG is subjective and if it was not we would all be playing the same game.
The forum moderators should have" i hate whatever game forums" as well as fan ones because anyone who has a positive comment just gets shouted down as a fanboi. It's a sad part of thse forums that anyone who actually comes to these forums who likes the game has to wade through a bunch of negative vitriol.
The intriguing part is that a lot of the negative people are basically saying they are GW2 fans, they will get to know what happens when a game they like gets negative comments. It will happen on these forums no doubt, it would not matter how good it is it will happen...at least on these forums.......

BUT if that is true (no way of knowing this) then even I would agree that it would mean a big failure on EA'a part.

No they are not! EA says subs are holding steady, so it must be true regardless of the actual evidence you have observed.
But seriously, I think that's how we have to look at MMO's these days, fun for a few months after lauch, then you take a break and come back after the next content expansion.
The era of long term play is probably long past.

Yeah, that's what I saw it as. I think GW2 is kind of a garbage game from what I have seen thus far, and have had no interest in playing it. Now don't get me wrong I haven't played SWTOR in about a month, but I must say GW2 isn't even on my radar as a decent game to waste my money on. Hopefully something comes along for those who have been dissappointed by SWTOR, but there is nothing at the moment I can look forward too that fits into the MMo style I would want to play.
