Good rule of thumb: Take mmorpg.com's final score and subtract 2 right off the top. That 2 point bump is what I like to call "The ad revenue bump."
Not that it's a tell all, but we're actually on average lower than the curve. /shrug I think our new system is working. But like all things based on opinion, YMMV.
Well, this is depressing. It tells a lot about the sad state of current review websites. What about you guys instead of doing just like everybody else, you make assassin(compared to other false review you are assassine but instead you are actually telling the truth) reviews. So, instead of living off whatever way you are making money right now, you get it from the players base enjoying your reviews because you are the only one to tell the truth?
Not that I have any hope of seeing that anytime soon, but its just a suggestion anyway.

I'll say it again, because it always bears repeating when we're accused of this. Neither myself nor any of our staff on the editorial team has anything to do with advertising. That's run completely separately from editorial content. The owners of the site no longer write (though they started this site with that intention) because they believe that the business of ads should have no tie to our editorial content.
You may not agree with our reviews, and that's fine. But never assume we're bought and paid for. If we were, I wouldn't be working two jobs and 80 hours a week to support my family.
Additionally... doesn't anyone ever remember our first score for Earthrise and the ad that ran around its launch? Please don't tell me you believe they BOUGHTa 5.5 review?

Honestly Bill, I think they'd have been happy to have bought even a 2.5 for that turd. lol

I am pretty shocked that you gave this game that high a score really!! Some of the things written were correct, many others not. There are NO pets (the druid healer gets a minion to help fight is all)noone else can get a pet. There are so many quests uncompletable that there is NO true PVP content, so no faction wars, guild vs guild, etc although it's advertised as such. Consists mostly only a handful of jerks go around ganking lower level players at this point. After hours and hours of grinding for the 'soul pts' needed to master a skill - due to super low success rates, the mastery fails, enhancing weaps is a gamble and needs cash shop items. Rather than fix quests, etc Frogster seems to care mostly about adding cash shop items and heck..even they don't work correctly resulting in many players just leaving the game. Spending money as a last resort to enjoy the game and getting ripped off is a no-no in my book. Eligium did have a few good qualities and at first the community was helpful and pleasant - now it's becoming more and more deserted each day, there's a lot of frustration and anger that Frogster had many months between closed and open beta and didn't fix anything- and Frogster doesn't seem to care. Go look at their forums - especially at the comments about their patch notes and see for yourself. I give this one a few more months to it's death.
Granado Espada has a built-in botting mode as well, surprisingly the game sucks.
I really liked Granado Espada up to level 100. It's great controlling 3 different characters if you know how it works. I also liked the world and the music.
After level 100 it gets too grindy so I stopped. But I still enjoyed my way up there.
I played the Singapore International Version not the American one. The international server didn't have a gold farmer problem.
On topic: Haven't tried Eligium, graphics look good. I might try it if I would have time to play games.
Necro'ing this thread to point out that Frogster obviously know a thing or two more about games than mmorpg.com, since they just canned Eligium, deeming it not good enough to be worth releasing.
"one of the better ones (if not the best) of the bunch"indeed, I know reviews are subjective and all but what a farcical statement to make about such a terrible game. This was the worst MMO I saw since Alganon at the time of it's initially planned release.

Wow, this game rated quite a bit higher than Dragona (4.5). That's just objectively wrong, lol.

Before: developers loved games and made money.
Now: developers love money and make games.
Wait a second... When did the lack of an in-depth story actually start mattering in an MMO?
Oh that's right--when MMO's became a single-player experience.

Cash shops, legalized botting, it's funny how some of you draw these arbitrary lines.
