I lost track of about 6 hours today. That hasn't happened in the last 5 or 6 years with any MMO. This game just picks up and gets deeper and better the further I go into it. Not sure how long the feeling with last, but I FINALLY feel like I've found a new MMO home. I didn't even follow this game, but I'm glad I found it.

Just not worth my time anymore.
Glad to hear that, I am currently having a blast in TERA. Really great so far, I especially love the PVP and I havn't played any game in a long time that compares to TERA's PVP.
Yeah I am lost in this game, it's been a long time since I found an MMO I liked. I was spoiled by Asheron's Call then tried Rift, WoW,GW, DaOC, Shadowbane, Darkfall etc etc.....I could not find anything I liked but Tera is a game I can see me playing for a long time
It's funny because this game was completely off my radar, and I had absolutely no interest in it. I was just trying to find something to occupy my time until Diablo 3.
Same dont know how ill juggle this D3 and gw2
I'm a unique and beautiful snowflake.
Haven't played a game that burn me out like Tera can lol. The amount of attention required to do the later lvl dungeon is wow lol.
first time through the sky garden i was so burned out i went to sleep early lol (wiped like 6 times finishing it) but after that it was better but still hours just fly by in Tera XD
I'm loving it too! 10 hours Sat, 10 hours Sun... Wanted to call in sick to work today, but didn't. Absolutely love the game. Graphics are good, play is very smooth, and combat.. OMG the combat! Had to do an OP in TOR after 10 hours of TERA on saturday, almost fell asleep mid op cause the combat was soooo dull..
Can't wait for tonight, more warrior fun!!!
They should add a #%!¤#!¤ clock into the client.
This game is ruining my life, it's just that good
I've tried enabling the clock in preferences, but no dice. Evil Tera.
I'm experiencing the same thing and this really is a pleasant surprise.
Here is the thing everyone said couldn't be done, but they did it. This mmo feels very complete, from the generic quests (oh well) all working (so far) to the spectacular graphics and the best sound of any MMO I've played in years. Fully functional, well, everything!
I realize this is not a brand new release, only a NA release, but I am still happy to have a fully functional MMO to play with CHAT BUBBLES! I forgot how important they are to meeting friends playing that other game-that-shall-not-be-named-swtor.
get xfire
I ordered the colletors Edition a few weeks ago and I still havent got it from Amazon and I can't play till the box gets here and I get my code.
:-(
Wish I could feel the same way about TERA, but the lack of variety and blanded features kill it for me. I was very much the same way as you all for the first 2 days, couldn't wait to log in and play. After playing for a bit, there's just this constant reminder of where this game originated...the usual korean mechanics are still at work just glossed over some and hidden from view. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers, I'm no fanboy for any game, system, or company. I paid good money for the game and wanted to enjoy it sincerely. The extremely childish community is a HUGE and probably the #1 turn off for me. What servers do you guys play on? I was actually thinking of switching from my PvP server Feral Valley to the RP PvE server just because it seems it'd be more mature. The game might end up being a bit more enjoyable for me if I had other's to enjoy it with. As it is right now, it's like a MMOCoD lobby
In the end though the fact remains, that there is just nothing new in TERA.
I imagine some sort of fanboy is going to jump on some virtual soapbox and try badmouthing my opinions, but that's just it this is my opinion. I'm not spouting facts or statistics, just my general impression of the game as it's progressing, and I'm trying to refrain from sounding biased in my critique. One point rings true, I didn't buy this game to search for things I didn't like. I did enjoy the first two days however, wish it could have held my interest a bit longer.
On a sidenote: En Masse does have some of the best customer service i've ever dealt with and that's no exaggeration.
My friend had this problem, En Masse support gave them temporary access until they get their box.
I agree with this game being alot of fun.
I recomend everyone trying this game out to atleast play to lvl 25+ because this game starts weak but gets better and better the more you progress.
Finally a game that helped me get rid of my LoL and Dota 2 addiction(was given one of the first beta keys), now im addicted to this game and i am happy with that.
En Masse has been great about access to their game. Many people got in to Beta and head start just from live chat. A guildy live chated with EME about beta key from pre-order from game stop and the GM just give him all access Beta key. Head start many people live chated for a key and got in. Also a guildie thought he was getting the white horse but got other because he order else where, and the GM instantly change it to the white horse for him.
I have a 25 sorc on the RP server and a 25 archer on Feral Valley. Both server's communities seem about the same. I had to make my party tab have everything but area chat just to enjoy the game. Worst community I've seen since PVP servers in AoC. It even makes WoW Barren's chat look civil.
Tera is an absolute blast to play in combat, and the scripted AI of mobs is challenging and varied to a point where I finally don't feel like I can close my eyes and play the game.
The PvE servers are a little calmer with the bad mouthing. But turning off general chat is always the #1 action in any MMO. The individual players I've met have been very cool even on the PvP servers. Communities are always terrible around launch, it'll clean up in a few months.
That is a biproduct of the new "Generation Me" attitude that plagues all new MMOs. You are going to see that in every game now-a-days, especially PVP games which draw the worse out of people. The RP PVE server is a LOT more respectable, but doesn't have the added sense of danger the PVP servers have.
I found the chat in the RP server more enjoyable. The PVP servers are just a cespool for chat, similar to every other MMO in the past 5 years.
Edit: Report anyone abusing Area chat, it works. It isn't much, but it is better than nothing. I've seen already 2 chat trolls suspended from the game from the Feral Valley server.
I usually post rarely on two accounts here but I gotta say something about the RP pve server on Tera. It by far is WAY worse then any other mmorpg ive ever played. Some of the stuff people say in general chat on both the IoD and later on the early parts of lumbertown and general chat is just disgusting. Pedo's EVERYWHERE and they are open about it in world chats. Constant bickering over ERP and garbage about elin this and elin that. By far the scum of the earth is playing this game in first world countries with internet. Ive had to put way to many people on ignore in this game , yet even in wow during its prime I never had to put people on ignore. There is so many sicko's playing this game because of the art and tons of trolls. I feel sorry for anyone that is a decent human being even trying to play this game serious and wanting mature normal conversation. Its to the point now at level 30 on two toons I want to just move completely off celestrial hills entirely.
Thanks for the heads up Lo-Ki.
I am just as guilty of loving a game for the first couple days myself, until something clicks in my head.
I will try TERA out this week, if the game can give me some enjoyment, I won't at least feel like I wasted my money.
Early lvl do have horrible chat, notice when i went back to IoD to lvl my gathering. However higher lvl is much better aside from when my friend troll the chat but honestly its nothing like offensive as to simple trolling. And people get so worked up every time he say the EXACT same thing and they still respond to him seriously. Can't help but laugh at that.
Hah, TERA is the first MMO in years in which I'm happy to subscribe to. SWTOR and RIFT was a let down for me, I just didn't feel immersed in their gameworlds, TERA on the otherhand looks and sounds stunning with very lively animations on everything. Love the combat and PVP.
I am in no rush..I will just wait. It is supposed to get here today anyways (I hope), so no big deal
I still can't quite figure out why I didn't stick with Rift, but after playing Tera I know why.
People were commenting on Rifts excellent graphics but I always thought their art department sort of dropped the ball. It's not all about polygon counts. You have to make some art. The same goes for the music in Rift. It just sort of sucks. Trion has my admiration for their efforts, it just wasn't my style.
Tera, on the other hand, is beautiful in every way. Yeah it's themepark, but it's the first game in years that when I have to ride from point A to point B, I enjoy the ride. Sometimes I'll even stop to watch someone fight a mob.
I won't even comment on SWTOR because it's not an MMORPG imo but I totally agree with every point you make about Tera.
God, my inner fanboi is getting restless...
Very well said.
