Aim based/crosshair issues?

TeekayTeekay Member Posts: 94

So as i mentioned before, when i decide to strafe around something on my lancer and keep the crosshairs on the target, if I press an attack move it won't attack in  the direction of the crosshair, but in the direction my character is facing. So I have to make sure my toon is facing the mob first and then attack, independent of what the cross hair is doing.

Is this normal?  I couldn't find any setting to change this, because it makes the whole aiming thing a little redundant. They could just say, 'You're moves attack whatever is in front of you.'

Correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm not exactly sure what the issue is here. The crosshair is where your character is facing, so that is "in front of you". What is the problem with strafing? Could you elaborate?

Lancer and all character will always hit toward the crosshair as long as your not holding down any directional keys. If your holding down wasd whiel attacking your character will attack the direction your holding. So let go of you movement for a sec to attack and your hits w ill be toward the crosshair.

its useful when you get in to a werid spot when tanking because if your facing the boss you can't see yourself so i adject my camera angle so i can see but hold a directional key so i still attack at the monster instead of air lol.

Yea rex is correct, you can try it easily by making new characters and fighting those low level trees which move slow as dirt. but if you release the movement key and then attack or again move forward (W) very quickly before hitting attack it will also reset your direction to face your crosshairs.

I find the mechanic useful sometimes so I can attack things behind me without having to completely 180 my viewpoint, especially when surrounded by minions as lancer.
