RAZER: Naga MMO is back....

BereKinBereKin Member Posts: 287

Well, for every mmo gamer wanting a gaming mouse specifically made for mmo games, you dont need to look any further. Now you can wait for GW2, TSW, Archege or any other upcoming new gen mmo battle ready.

One of the best-selling MMO gaming mice, the Razer Naga, gets an upgrade to its ergonomics for 2012.

Razer has announced the return of the Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse. The mouse has been updated with an anti-slip, anti-fingerprint matte finish and three interchangeable side panels for a more ergonomic gaming experience. The mouse still retains its 12-button thumb grid that is built for the MMO player. The buttons over the top of the gaming mouse have been repositioned for much easier actuation. The three interchangeable side panels have been provided to let end-users personally customize the shape of the Razer Naga to fit their hand and play-style, claw-grip or palm-grip.

Isnt that pretty much a razer naga epic with a green color instead of blue and without the wireless option? o.O  I like green more than the blue color though! @_@

    If only they had magenta...

Mostly it is, but its specialy made for mmo gaming. As you can see there is 12-button thumb grid and with rest of buttons it make up total of 17 mouse buttons for your spells, macros, abilities, skills and etc....  Not a bad idea to have choice to put colors you like.

The Naga takes a little getting used to but once you're comfortable using one it's great.

The only complaint I have about Razer products, particularly their mice is the quality and durability.

They want to do too much in my opinion. These small buttons all clamped together means it is pretty difficult to click the correct one in the heat of battle. So people end up using only the first three buttons for important stuff, and put things you dont really need hotkeyed on the back button, like /emote or sit down and rest.

I bet it would make an MMO players better if it had only 6 buttons twice the size, and the middle one rippled or in other way letting your finger know what it is doing :)

They do have a six button one. It's called the Naga Hex.

Yep, easier buttons but not 12.

I've been researching and debating on a new Naga, this one might do. Thanks for the OP post!

This is my only complaint as well - cheap construction.

The first Nagas had a problem with the mouse buttons wearing out very quickly, the plastic bar inside becoming grooved with wear so that it wouldn't work properly.  Mine wore out after about 7 months of use.  I hope the newer versions have beefed up the materials they use.

Otherwise, I loved the capabilities it had.  The side buttons were great.

    Question:

Are the 1-12 buttons the same layout (spacing, depth etc.) as the old one? It's hard to tell from the pics.

I find the naga easy to use but thats maybe because I have small fingers.  The only button that I have a hard time pressing is 9 but thats prolly cuz  my fingertip goeas to 3, middles goes to 6, joint goes to 12...makes it real hard to press it unless i move my thumb.

As for the quality...I never had a problem with any of my razer products o.o  Ive had my razer naga since august 2010 and never had a problem o.o Same with my n52 te.

I agree with the cheap construction. I bought a naga and was so surprized that it felt like a happy meal toy in my hand. It was too light and the button clicks just didn't feel right. The excess buttons seemed like a really cool idea, but the mouse just felt like a piece of junk. I returned it and got a Logitech G700. I couldn't be happier.

LOL, I bought a G700 after the Naga as well.  Good mouse.

Agree though, the Naga really was poorly constructed, for as expensive as it is.  I did like the buttons on the side, but not enough to buy another one.
