MMORPG.com App

I know the site has a mobile version for mobile plat forms but what you think about an app dedicated to mmorpg.com. For example something possible similar to the IGN app, I feel would be a good addition to mmorpg and help people stay connected in a different and possibly more accessible way. Anybody interested in something like that too?

If it will fix the issue of posting formats. Currently the mobile site is not paragraph friendly when it comes to posting in threads. You cant space or puts breaks between paragraphs in the mobile version. Especially if you go back to edit your post.  It runs everything together.

App for the Ipad would be great.

I think it would be really interesting to see what kind of personal customization of your profile that could come through an app. Not sure how much the production cost would be but either paying a dollar or doing free with adds type thing could possible be financially beneficial.

Wouldn't that 'app' be called a browser?

If they had site currency like some sites do, I would be a bazillionaire if they give it for browsing the site. I spend way too much time on here.

I think we discussed this in the past and didn't end up doing it for one reason or another. I'll see about pinging someone to find out where we stand on this right now.

The best thing would be to support one or more of the already available forum apps Tapatalk being the predominant one. For most bbs software it is a trivial task to enable it. Of course mmorpg using some wierd bespoke thing my be a little more difficult. Tapatalk claim to support 99% of all bbs software however. Perhaps you have a word with your bbs guys mike?

dont have a smartphone i take it? apps arnt just webpages loaded on your phone, it would be set up for phones, and woould work good on them, unlike mobile versions of sites whihc usually suck.

So any update on this Mike? Your stats must tell you that you have more and more mobile and tablet visitors. Even if you can't offer tapatalk At least fix the mobile site so it works properly (see post 2) for details.

Sure you can do it in a browser, the experience is just far superior in a dedicated app, particularly on sites without a mobile friendly version. E.g if you do a lot of rss or usenet a dedicated client is probably your best bet. Then thre is the whole online offline thing. Download all threads you have marked, disconnect, reply on he subway to work, upload them when you arrive.

To enable tapatalk requires a single line if script on the server. To make a site mobile friendly needs a completely new site to be devloped nd maintained along side the min one.

    tl;dr version

    better experience

    works on and offline

dosent require a complete site redesign
