PVP will be greatly improved by the end of summer, don't forget that.

I've seen people in game threatning to quit due to there being no political system or battleground yet.

They will be getting added by the end of Summer ^^ for those that are turned away due to the game lacking them.

The political system is getting implented within the next 2 weeks along with the blood meter, the political system will function with votes though instead of PvP since battlegrounds will be added by the end of summer.

Did u see the thread about how the pvp in tera has nothing to do with player ability and only with char lvl ?

give a look at it it might change ur mind about TERA pvp... it made me realize that they really need to work hard on it to get better.

i dont understand why people are fussing so much about pvp while leveling. yes i understand that being faced against a player 3 levels higher than you doing more damage due to being higher level is unfair but its the end game which counts. If its such a problem that being ganked by someone 3 levels higher than you is quite hard to respond to then roll in a PvE server or level in groups or get used to switching channels ( most likely ). leveling is quite fast and i haven't come across alot of gankers untill now.

Ofcourse this is my opinion and i know many people enjoy the leveling experience more than the end game, if its that bad for you and makes you turn away then its your right to.

You also realize Tera PvP is built around end game when everyone is the same lvl? And that fact hat capping takes about 1-2 month for the most casual player, 1 week for hardcore and about 2-3 weeks if you play medium amount.

I really just hope people can keep themselves amused until the QoA part 2 patch.

Battlegrounds, increased political system depth and warriors being able to queue as tanks amongst who knows what else.

not looking forward to that, from what we seen so far looks like lancer going to be completley broken for good 3-6month and i'm going to have to play a warrior to get anything tanking done =

    Why would they be broken?

The lack of tanks right now is brutal, it'll balance the game out a lot and i'm sure you'd still queue faster than dps/healers.

Sadly, if you launch a incomplete game, most of your population will be gone before the features will be added.

Why developers cant grasp this I'll never understand.

The problem is that people don't remember those early days of WoW. They look fondly through rose-tinted nostalgia glasses to the "good old Vanilla WoW" days. Everything was so much better, PvP matter, etc. The horrible queues, bugs (loot bug, charge bug, etc.), crappy warlocks, overpowered rogues, etc. are all conveniently forgotten.

When these ex-WoW players get a new MMORPG, they measure it to the standards of WoW now (which is pretty damn polished). They don't have much patience to wait on bugfixes etc. It's just the sad reality. On the other hand, it can't hurt for the developer to at least deliver a working game, deliver on your promises.

That said, I've heard that TERA was pretty well polished.

See it as a endgame feature.  QQ solved. Maybe the battlegrounds they add wil work like other games. Like a battleground for the lvls 1 to 10, if a lvl 1 enters he will get lvl 10

Ah this will be golden, once TERA get's older here in the West.
Once all those white knights realize TERA is about GEAR at max level.

Max enchant gear (by whatever means) one shots the average DECENT geared guy with +4/ +6 Stuff.
But hey PVP get's better at lvl50 they say now. :)

TERA was never a real PVP game to the core, Koreans just like a open minded PVP system with politics metagame but no where near what EME and Frogster try to pull off here.

Well, the good news is that the current status promotes open world PvP in the PvP servers.

Depending on how the stamia system work it could screw up lancer blocks. Also once warrior can tantk much easiler there is no point in taking a lancer speically for hard modes where you need as much dps as possible. Last boss on Balder once hit 30% you have about 3-5mins ot kill it before it instant wipe your party. Why take a lancer when you can take a warrior and get an extra dps out of that? Fane in hard mode is also a dps race on the first and last boss. Warrior already have dmg of a dps class, give them better tanking ability will make them hella op for a while till they nerf it.

What features in wow were announced before release used as a sales pitch but not in the game on launch?

I don't think its gonna work as well for Blizzard then , as it does for Developers now.

Mainly because alot of players have been burned by this method, one of the most recent launches ( SWTOR ) did just that. Their legacy and ranked PVP options were delayed and delayed till most of the PVP players already left.

Ranked PVP is still on hold for future content updates.

The PvP is pretty damn good right now if you are in an active guild.  GvG is fun as hell, open world PvP is alive and well, and the Political system has a chance to really enhance PvP as a whole.

I'm not sure why people believe PvP will be greatly improved at any point in this games future.

Getting my information from the mmorpg interview conducted last week and posted here the lead dev clearly said:

SvS pvp was a "blue sky idea" and a long way off.

Some of the battleground staff had been moved elsewhere to work on other aspects of the game.

No where have I seen any clear mention of a "great" improvement in the quality or quantity of PvP found in TERA.  These claims sound like claims found in nearly all games that lack decent PvP...'coming soon'

End of summer will be late, is a korean MMO, and people in the west, after aion, doesnt have a lot of patience for Korean MMOs, and TSW is coming in early june.

TSW and Tera cater to two totally different demographics.

I agree with this...But I think there are some HUGE mmo's on the horizon that will be nearing release near the end of summer that every single MMO on the market will need to watch closely...Guild Wars 2,  Planetside 2, and Mists of Pandera.   It's my opinion that Tera and ToR simply don't have what it takes to put up a real challenge for these titles.

This stinks very highly of TOR's PvP being "greatly improved" by future patches.

Also stinks to high Hell of WoW's constant efforts in the first couple of years to "improve PvP" and "give meaning to open world conflict." Then they went for all battlegrounds/arena's and "canned" open world PvP (WG, TB)

Devs have to realize, if you make PvP about item acquisition and stats, players will always always always flock towards the most efficient/fastest means to acquire said items/stats, and instanced PvP will always be faster/easier than open world PvP due to the unpredictable nature of open world PvP.

TERA has a chance due to the political system, Vanarchs, etc. at making the open world stuff interesting and fun WITHOUT the sole reliance on gear, but if they get the "balance" wrong it will go the way of Illum in TOR.

Everyone can reach 60 in a month or two of casual play. Why does level have anything to do with the pvp anyway? I usually only run into people within two levels of me.

^ this. I haven't run into anyone pking me or trying to pvp that is too high up there, maybe one time a bored 60 came and killed me, but that's one out of about 30 different encounters, and I try to avoid them if they are in groups so I could have had many more.
