Team Champions of Norrath/Return to Arms represent!
Nothing can even compare, to me anyway.
The EverQuest setting, a mature feeling, actual character creation/customization (though it wasn't as in depth as games with creation today, it was still there, and is the only game of this genre that I know that has it), the graphics were good for their time, it supported 4player local coop, as well as arenas, and made use of PS2's online. The combat was solid, and the skills were well planned. The random loot was amazing. So many hours of my life were devoted to these two games.
I would throw all of my money in the face of someone that could make a third game happen.
--edit--
On the subject of these three, Torchlight II, unless I get around to trying PoE. I didn't really like either of the Diablo games, especially after the above games. I quite enjoyed Torchlight, it didn't have the overly dark generic setting that always felt like the devs were trying too hard.

But again, this is if I had to pick.
Haven't tried PoE
TL2 fall into the same design failure as TL1: way too many skills that do the same thing in the same way with different effects or damage types.
Really looking forward to D3. The new skill system finally rewards creativity and strategy as opposed to effort and damage calculations.
