It's nothing to be ashamed of, TSW is a great game for people with the intuitive smarts for it. Some people just need the faceroll games like WoW, SWTOR and GW2. TSW is not a simple game, even the dungeons make you use brain power let alone some of the missions.
Bugs aside, TSW is the best mmo in years. It's different, difficult and mentally rewarding.
It also has static dead cities, poor animations, A soulless combat system that is completely faceroll. It's also not that difficult and if you find it is than doesn't that says more about you than everyone else.
Sounds like you been fighting a zombies in the starting zone. Go fight some Draug then rage quit. In case you can't read, many animations are still place holders. If you can read, go read the article on MMORPG, including the portions they added.
someone with your brain power surely didn't fall for the "animations are just placeholders" line. why would they use bad animations as placeholders when they are trying to sell and promote their game?
Why has this thread been able to go as long. If I made apost like this I wold of gotten a ban.
mods are off playing TSW Beta Weekend, it'll be locked by tomorrow morning probably.
Grouping in Old school mmo's: meeting someone at the bar and chatting, getting to know them before jumping into bed. Current mmo's grouping: tinder. swipe, hookup, hope you don't get herpes, never see them again.

I dont know about that, they seem to be OK with threads that are pushing games that are near release...maybe getting paid by the companies to help with hype...now if this was a negative troll thread...it would be a ban quick.

Really wish the OP would provide actual reasoning to back up his viewpoint. From what I've seen from the game, there is only 1 thing that requires brainpower, and only enough to do a search on google. That would be the quest riddles. While definitely a nice twist, it doesn't seem to carry over into any other parts of the game. While the combat does seem to offer quite a bit of customization, I was kinda surprised by how standard a lot of the abilities were. You're basically 'customizing' into fairly pre-defined roles =/. Oh well. Will still keep an eye on this one.
LOL brain power? Please. The investigation quests are ridiculously easy and the only thing that can make them relatively difficult is the lack of zone and lore knowledge.
Besides that, out of ~55 quests I did, only 3 were investigation, the rest were the usual kill x and deliver x types we see in other MMOs. I had to Google things twice: once to find out the length of 2 songs and once to find a Bible passage and quite frankly it was more trouble than it was worth. The rewards are severely lacking and most of the quests do not even offer any proper closure, which is especially ridiculous when you're talking about the ivestigation quests.
The first time I did an investigation quest, I thought that it was going to be epic. People were raving about them on these forums and I thought that maybe I was wrong about the game, maybe this will be it's redeeming factor. Then I finished one and I honestly said "wait, that's it?" The ending was so anti-climatic, it wasn't even funny. The quest basically ended. I don't even care about the lack of item rewards, there was no real closure to reward you for the effort. It was like "Oh, you found secret illuminati talismans? I wonder what they were up to? Well, here's some XP, run along now."
The combat is basically the same for all weapon sets. You use your resource building abilities until you accumulate 5 resources on the mob and then use your finisher move to do a lot of damage. Sounds familiar? Yes, every single weapon set has the same mechanic as a rogue in WoW. Not to mention that a lot of tier 1 skills are very similar. The other tiers may be more unique but access to them was locked, so I couldn't test them.
The only thing that requires brain power in this game is crafting and not because it's hard to figure out but because it's simply unintuitive and there is no in-game explanation.
Now to be fair, you found them to be easy. Apprently the OP did not. j/k.

Investigation quests require some tought and knowledge about topography of the zone. the rest of the quests have cool story but they are nothing more than kill this/fetch that quests. And it seems like no one is forced to do investigation quests.

Pretty sure everyone knew about animations remaining mostly unchanged. 400 a few weeks from launch, please. Same with there will be "no powers for sell"
No for the OP only 5% of quests are puzzle typle and I doubt any would require an IQ over 100 to solve. I'm sure anyone with past exposure to video games could solve them intuitivly as they are similar. Back in the day RPGs and Survival Horror games used to use logic puzzles frequently. That was half life's claim to fame but theey used physics and I'm pretty sure the protagonist in half life represented friedman who published a lot of text books, I read his autobiography was well written. Anyway MMOs usually have puzzles as well in the form of bosses that you have to kill in real time. The good MMOs have bosses so hard very few people can kill them.
Oh well I played it and it did remind me of some old games from 2002-2004ish the unfortunate thing is it reminded me of the games that were unmemorable, like some game were you are on mars and need to keep 3 people seperate and another that is vampires and warewolves.
Now now, the Op does have a point...For instance, heres a fast short list of those who lack enough "brain power" to play TSW
:People in comas
:new born babies
:the dead
:people in vegetative states.
:some people who have had insuficient flow of oxygen to the brain for extended periods of time
So, we can clearly see, for these and others like them, the secret world would actually appear difficult to play to them based solely on their "brain power".

ROFL.
It's about as mentally challenging as prince of perisa.
Riven and Myst were games for people with "out of the box" thinking and intuitive intelligence. Running here to there and clicking a glowing red thingy, or looking on a wall 10 feet from where you get a quest to see the answer scrawled on it is NOT a brainpower oriented game. Admittedly, some of the puzzle quests do take longer than 18 seconds to figure out, and there are alot of purely stupid people in the world that play mmo's (no insult to stupid people, blame god, not me for saying it) but dude. The best mmo in years? HELL NO.
You know, I really like this game. And the quests are fun. But this thread is condescending and offensive.
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.

It might be condescending and offensive, however, that doesn't make the statement any less accurate. OP is entirely correct.
I haven't seen a single complaint about the game being too heady. Although I will admit that I haven't looked. In fact, most people that seem to like this game say that the best part are the investigation quests. Even people that don't like TSW still say that the puzzle quests were good.

There is a difference between something that "heady" and something that just retarded. For instance the bee portion of the The Vision in Kingmond. There is no visual of bees (closest I saw was the trapped Templar T-Shirt guy) and the bzzzing of bees was practically non existant or the whole gallws end potion. I really don't have the time or energy to "scavange hunt" something down due to limitations of investigations. While overall I did enjoy the quest line expect for a few hiccups but people do..not.. want to run around for hours trying to figure something out when the reward isn't all that great.
And if you think this is a reflection of intellegence then your smoking crack, people will simpely will just look up on ZAM or (Game's Name)wiki or what other database there is out there for the quick and easy answers. This is just not an option atm because the game is in beta.

Entirely correct? you must be joking. If you really think you NEED brain power to play a game with 3 quests that differ from the norm(that are entirely optional) out of the other hundred that are like every other mmo in the market right now then you and the op are making yourselfs look like the ones that lack brain power.

Evidently I'm not smart enough for this game, because I really didn't enjoy the 'game' much. Going to stick with EVE and TERA for now.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre

How so? The quests have one and only one answer. There is very little in the way of creative thinking or problem solving just a simple riddle to solve. I'll say those 10% (if) of the quests that require the brain power to play Sudoku to solve are more interesting than the other 90+ but I would hardly say they need someone of above average intelligence to solve.
And as for the dungeons I have yet to see, read or hear of anything to think the boss encounters are more difficult than you typical mmo raid boss tricks. They are scripted fights and if you follow the script and have the right skill mix going into it you will win.
Solving the few puzzle quests there are has nothing to do with level of intellect. It boils down to patience. So while the game was entertaining I think it is comical to consider those that did not enjoy it are somehow mentally inferior. As if solving these quests has anything to do with how smart you are...

I guess arrogance will be a feature of TSW community.
Investigative quests = read quest journal
rest of the quests = kill X amount of X by pressing 1,2 and 3 over and over till everything is dead.

To a 6 year old, people that can perform basic Algebra look like they are genius.
To a retarded person, people that can successfully solve puzzles in this game look like they are genius.

Lol where are these complaints that game is too hard?
From all the complaints i've seen and the ones I have after playing, its more complaints about combat, animations, stability, bugs etc.
Which is right up FC's alley given their 2 previous failures of a launch.
