My ongoing adventures in Tera part 3.

So played some more over the weekend.

 

Did my first Dungeon - BoL, had to sit in the dungeon queue for about 40 mins, I didn't mind that much because I could still keep grinding out  quests etc.

The dungeon was pretty much go through corridor to first room, lancer pulls mobs, dps just throw out as many moves they can whilst the healer heals. Theres NO way you can do these without a healer or tank. It's not possible. Doesn't matter how skilled you are the sheer number of mobs/how hard they hit means you need healing+someone with blocking/aggro management.

This carries on in the same pattern until you come to your first boss, he handles the same, just moves abour a bit more so you have to chase/dodge more.

Then after beating him you do more of the same then face the final boss. No loot for my class came up (which sucked a bit), but that's the way it goes sometimes.

I wasn't tremendously impressed. But I do appreciate the fact they let you rez in combat a huge deal, that is really important to me in an mmo.

 

Did a few bams solo. I think i'm missing something. I did one which were my level, so they took a while, and I pretty much used the same tactic. When I did get hit it was out of boredom of strafing and you just become careless. You feel like you've put in the effort to have fought a boss, but you turn round and there are a field full of them. They don't even drop any interesting items.

Seems they are meant for groups only, as the time spent vs reward is pretty poor for a soloer.

 

Then I rolled a sorc just to see how he fared. The absolute killer was having to do the starter zones again. Oh my freaking god, same quests, same everything, I reached level 10 on him and just couldn't face doing all the same mainland quests again. It's an absolute horrible system for alt making. I can't even go a different route. You really just have to love killing the same mobs.

 

So there my adventure in Tera ends.  Diablo 3 is out tomorrow and it's a fine time to quit. Have fun all of you who stick with Tera.

I've done BoL without a healer and without a tank before, it's entirely possible.

 

I also wonder, why was it BAMs were so easy for you solo but in the dungeon you implied you had died and mobs were difficult? If the "BAMs" you fought was referring to basilisks...yeah they are weak lol.
