Finally an explanation.

Lay out tons of cash or repeat hideous boring grind for an alt.

Glad I didn't buy it. I would feel like a sucker.

WoW does the same thing for gender change, name change, race change, server change and more, also charges for expansions and cosmetic mounts.

At least we don't have to pay for expansions or server transfers.

That being said i'd rather not see this and would not pay for any of it, however, in this day and age expect it with every MMO because children with their parents credit cards will buy anything.

Take this from a guy who has a friend that has spent $3000 on things in WoW using his parents debit card in the past.

I take it, this is suppose to be a funny post? As I don't see anything but weapon skins in that store, plus the usual premium services any P2P MMO has been offering since a decade ago.

What do you mean by expansions? If its what they usually mean, they are free????

Every major content update in TERA since release has not been charged for in Korea, those being the Beast of Destruction expansion and Queen of the Argon Part 1.

TERA originally released with a level cap of 50. 8 dungeons have been added since release and something like 8 zones.

How is this any different then what other games offer? The fact that they sell skins for your weapons is great imo. I am not seeing where the problem is with what you linked us.

Please clarify your post because it does not make any sense and is looking like a attempt to troll the forum.

this thread makes absolutely no sense.

What do cosmetic services have to do with "grind"?

also, I would  point out that many games have paid cosmetic service/name changes, etc.

Also it seems that this is no different from WoW which also charges for such things. At this point in time this is pretty standard.

My post is very clear. Instead of having to grind back through to max level you can pay a rather steep fee to the cash shop.

Why did they wait til after they had maxed initial sales to introduce this? hmmmm

I am playing Tera currently, and while I really hope what your saying is true I will take it with a grain of salt. You have listed no proof that all expansions will be free for the NA client. So pics or it didnt happen.

This post makes no sense to me.

Why do most people re-roll? I would say it is safe to say that the majority re-roll to try another class (although there are obviously other reasons also). I doubt many people re-roll to change hair color, their name, or their gender.

The race change might be used instead of re-rolling but I have rarely in my personnal experience re-rolled to play the same character of a different race.

Also the questing is not so bad. I agree it is nothing special but the main questline is very good and besides the main quests I only quest when I solo which is rare.

How is that true? The premium services they offer are for gender, race and name changeschanges. If you want to play a new class you have to start from level 1 again you cannot start at 60. The classes they have in the store are for weapon skins only and have nothing to do with your acctual level.

You are spreading misinformation, please do more research and come back.

I think you should follow your own posted link in the OP, take a deep breath and then carefully look into that shop again what it really offers!

I think you are mixing up the race change with class change LOL!

There is absolutely nothing in that store that offers any ingame advantage nor negating the need to roll an ALT, unless you suddenly don't like your gender or race! Again LOL!

It is standard for every Korean MMO I have played. Lineage 2 has had something like 12 major expansions all of which were free (plus they usually add more to the game than most paid expansions imo).

It seems that the Korean attitude is that if you are paying a subscription fee that content should be provided free.

Your post doesnt make any sense. What in the cash shop eliminates grind?

Does a paid gender change eliminate grind in some way? Is that what you think?

OK, you dont like paying for auxiliary services, fine. Really no need to make a topic and make false claims though.

I realize that is the way it mostly works, but the game is still too young to confirm that. However I think that is a great way to do business, your paying us money every month it is our job to entertain you. Yup, good stuff. Now if only Blizzard could adopt that policy.

EVE Online has done it and still doing it ever since it released back in 2003.

So it's not only Korean companies that do it. CCP is based in Iceland, Europe.

I won't be mistaken for a Tera fan, ever, but that's one of the least offensive cash shops I've ever seen, not seeing the connection.

    Oderint, dum metuant.

safe to say this topic failed. I wish they did sell some fast leveling options :)

BBBBBUT all i see is the usual appearance change and weapon skin stuff.

I dont think the OP even read the store items and just ASSumed.

  • XasapisXasapis Member RarePosts: 6,337

The OP is a flat out lier. He relies on people not actually checking the link and take his word for it. The link he posted discredits everything he said.

  • WicoaWicoa Member UncommonPosts: 1,637

Think the op is way off the mark. Yet another sky falling over nothing :/.

  • Dahkot72Dahkot72 Member Posts: 261

I'm guesing the OP is upset he didn't get a hate train going , even non TERA fans see how silly of a complaint the OP is making.

  • LeetheLeethe Member UncommonPosts: 893

I don't think this is going the way the OP intended.

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. The skins look awesome.

    There is NO miracle patch.

95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

    Hope is not a stategy.

I'm not seeing it. There are cosmetic items.

edit: ok good, I'm not the only one who doesn't see it. I think someone else hit the nail on the head. He is confusing Race Change for Class Change.

Yeah. Instead of rushing through the character creation you can take your time and find sa look you actually like. Then live with it.   Its not like character creation is so extensive you can't help but make an error.

If not pay for it or re-create your characters avatar and re-grind.

    I don't see the problem .

I'm actually eyeing that Slayer weapon skin...mace looks cool.
