Someone who only just learnt about TSW and took a quick casual glance at the article, I guess.

I'm glad that as a woman I'm 'allowed' to change my mind :p

First I was: No way, I'm not going to play Secret World, another 'kill x amount of x' and zombies for that matter. I had a certain image of the game.

Then my guild mates got into beta (pre-ordered access) and while they were pondering the solutions to the puzzles in mumble, I found myself looking for answers in google.

Without saying a word I preordered and the next day I logged in. And got hooked on the quests. I felt that killing zombies was just a sidetrack, which was perfect.

Yes and I agree with your wife:

-More character creation options (always loved that - main reason I have a lot of alts)

-Interacting and speaking up as my character

By the launch I think the first one will get TLC but the second, no chance...

Regardless I'm going to play :D

    Nice review

It's always nice to hear the perspective of a new player in any game.

To me both graphics and character movement were unapealing, the powers sets, from what was available when i tried it, didn't seem all that exciting (they need to make each set stand apart from each other more) and the story though it is nice, i'm not sure it'll be enough to make ppl want to pay a monthly fee for it, specially with games like GW2 coming out that you only pay the game when you buy it.

I really hope they step up their game up a notch and make something that'll blow everyones expectives.

Pretty much what I feel about this game.  Funcom doesn't show much about PvP and how the "world domination" efforts will work. One of the official videos shows a political map. Will this map be available in-game to show each faction's control points? Or this is just a marketing gimmick?

Well, what worries me the most is that u don't get to try any other faction PVE part in the upcoming betas (the other thing is that FC is making this game...).

Combat ain't nice, it's dull at the best, feels like fallen earth...

Graphics are ok but way too limited right now.

The quests were nice tho and the ambiance very good. While that might keep me playin' for one month, doesn't guarantee an actual sub tho. Hope FC, for once, steps up their game and do something very very good, not just throw good ideas together and wrap em up with poor execution, like in both AO and AOC.

    You're a Hardcore Survivor!

You not only survived the zombie apocalypse, but did it with style! Your mastery of zombie knowledge, survival tactics, and weaponry is nearly unmatched. Congratulations, for you are hardcore!

The whole WASD/Mouse Aiming/Over The Shoulder Shooter/Skill Based Combat leaves the entire gaming experience disconnected.  May not break the game for everyone, but it sure did for everyone I know.  Pick a play type, and stick with it... companies needs to cease this bastardization of every type they can find.
