I guess it's better to see everyone whining about animations in the game rather than actual problems with the game...
I understand, you want them changed. Funcom said they're going to change. So in response.. you make another article asking them to change it.
Are there other games out there you could give coverage to? I mean.. great we're talking about TSW.. but it's the same thing over and over again... opinions on opinions on opinions.
Ugh.
The game has a myriad of bugs. Major ones. I reported a lot more problems than I expected to for a final beta. Character models disappearing, including mine. Getting stuck on things, and not being able to teleport or use /stuck, crash to desktop, etc. I hope they can get all these things fixed before their impending launch, otherwise it's going to be a disaster.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
Lol this isn't the released version of the game! Most of you don't even know what a "beta" is, expect to find bugs, glitches ect that's what a beta is and also your responsibility to report said bugs. Stop reviewing a product that's still in production, that's like reviewing a car with no engine that's still being made and saying " yeah the interior is amazing, the color complements the car well but the vechicle doesn't excelerate very well and has poor torque and take off speed" well yeah the engine wasn't installed yet lol you get what I mean Lol

only major one i found was the baldy man thing near the end of the beta.
The pistols brutally suck when it comes to sound and significance. I've heard better gun sounds come from children's mouths. I hated combat with the pistols, and that is a real disappointment.

Yeah I don't know about this guy.. Something just don't jive, but anyway. The beta client runs smooth as silk with 50+ people on the screen, which is very impressive. Yeah I got caught on some invisible walls next to bolders or next to a fence, they were far and few in between though. So yeah there are some graphical errors on the beta client.
I have to say that the sound doesn't bother me. Not saying would not be bothered by it being upgraded but I really don't notice that.
The animations mean nothing to me. I don't understand the complaints and not saying they are not valid. I am just one that for me it is about the gameplay and enjoying that. I normally look at how my character looks like when standing still and the stuff out in the distance. When I am fighting then I don't notice as I look for where I am and check health bars/skills.
Hope things get better for the ones who do pay attention as this is first MMO in long time that I really am enjoying.
I think wanting more visceral combat through animations and sound is not shallo at all! It is a valid and important part of a game, and I could not agree more!

I don't mind the animations. That said, I wouldn't complain if they had better looking movements put in later. This game is just so delightfully awkward and nerdy. Not the pseudo hipster I Geeks bs. Im talkin shut in, socially awkward, never been kissed nerds making this game and I find it calling to me like the mother ship lol
I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.
Am I missing something - Why is Tera and GW2 able to have moving attack animations based on user input along the course of the attack and TSW can't???
As a proffesional 3D animator of over 15 years funcoms excuse is rubbish, they simply haven't created postures for their combinations, for anyone interested in such a thing read up on the riggers and animtors who did Gollum for LOTR movie, they made lots of combinations for the various combo postures, Funcom simply haven't done this - yet., but to release a beta with the way it is currently is very sloppy....
Trying to convince your audience something is very difficult when all the other Dev companies do it as second nature is laughable...
Hence why it's a beta and not the released game. Things could be in the works behind closed doors that you cannot see, and every company has different ways of doing things.

? TSW does have moving attack animations, only it doesn't look as awesome as (some) people'd prefer it.
Does TERA have moving attack animations? I thought you could only fire your skills from a standing position, or that's what it does, it's not really like GW2 where animations are shown triggered from moving positions. At least, that's what I could glean from TERA videos and forumthreads.
There is a thing called additive....wait for it....animation! Additive animation, ladies and gentleman. No untieing necessary. Alot of game companies use it because it comes standard in Maya. The idea of splitting animations is something from 10-15 years ago. Plus, how the hell has every other run and gun game done it before. This is what happens when programmers run too much of the show. Art suffers...
What is so silly and funnyand sad about the secret world is we spend all our time walking around after combat with our hands out to the sides waist level like we are trying to grab 2 big momma buts from 2 differant big momms !!!

needs some but not all animations touching up - especially that bloody jump animation and the weightlessness of the hammer
AOC fatalities would be cool too
does not need over the top sparkle effects and imposibly large swords, its not a fanatasy mmo.

actually, the made the pistols too realistic.
games players are used to hollywood guns.

it was no better or worse bug wise than the gw2 BWE, its a bloody massive step up from the AOC launch.

A lot of the animations are just place holders due to the game still in beta.
Well, they are running out of time if they want to actually launch the game in 20 or so days. Unless they delay of course.
