MxO Registration Agreement=Spam

Yea i read over the agreements under the rules and regulations and provacy policy and all those becuase i was trying to convince my dad to let me use his credit card. First I had to prove to him he won' get scammed, so I rad him out the policy about how they will not release that information but upon reading it I found that they are allowed to give their information to third party compaines to market/solicate products or services to you. In other words, when you give your information to them they will call you and try to sell u stuff(telemarketers), and don't we all love that. You will also get junk mail and a bunch of crap you don't want. So by agreeing to those policys your pretty much saying, GIMMIE SOME SPAM!

I never got any spam and I've been in beta since October. I also don't know anyone else who has had a 'spam' experience.

There are advertisements in game, I.E. on billboards for the latest Warner Bros' movies for example. Thats about the closest thing and isnt really disruptive at all. Well if you can't play -- you can always bash the game as I see you are trying to do now. Sorry its had to come to that.

lol im not trying to bash the game just the agreement. why would they put that in there, just pisses me off

Who knows? Have you read every agreement for every game youve played? That little bit was likely in many of those agreements. who knows :P

Yeah there is alot of spam. It's all movies by WB such as the new Keanu Reeves film. I wouldn't be suprised if they start advertsing mobile phones like in the films.

Just because you haven't gotten it yet doesn't mean they don't have the right to start doing it anytime they wish IF that is truly in the agreement as the OP said. Besides, if your using spam blocking you can't truly know if your getting spam in your email since it may be getting eaten, none-the-less, it could be there.

He wasn't bashing the game at all, I think his post was fair and not inflammatory in the least bit. The only bashing I see is you not accepting what he said and accusing him of it.

Why do Fanboys never understand what a discussion is? It's like the topic of racism, if you mention you think a law should be passed that sets a minium wage for illegal immigrants, companys will stop employing them. But no Fanboys would just call you a racist and stop all discussion.

In all reality, there probably is a chance that you could get spammed.

But like Faedus said, that kind of stuff can no doubt be found in any MMO agreement, and you never hear any uproars about how millions of players are getting spammed to death

But in all honesty, if your dad is that ultra paranoid about it, and you actually pointed out that part of the agreement to him, there's not much we can say to really help you...his mind is probably already made up.

if you relay want to play you can always go to a bank and get a cash card (not checking, but kinda like it) jut put like $50  on it. you can play and if someone steels it your out $50.

Yes they do have the right to 'spam' you as you put it. Just because they can doesn't mean they will.

 

They also have the right to remove you from the game as and when they feel. Basically we have no rights when you play this MMORPG but that's not going to stop me playing.

 

Well for how long I can stomach it..

I've always wanted to say this on the mxo forums. Since you don't know my user name there I can say this without you and your fanboys attacking me and getting me removed like you did for other players. They were assholes I know, but you went to far.

MXOtbone and the furious faggots. That felt good.

So anyway back on topic. Yes they can spam you. The contract you sign basically says they can kick you from the game whenever they want with no reason other than they felt like it. The contract is basically total dictorship over you, but what game contract isn't now. Eh?
