Questions about Tera

NumquamNumquam Member Posts: 24

I'm quite eager to try out this game. Was just wondering about a few things, so if anyone can answer, I'll be gratefull.

1. Is there any raiding or planned raiding?

2. Looking at clips, the game has something that was the only thing keeping me in WoW for way to long: Smoothness when moving. Things look natural and it looks like the character reacts instantly when you click your stuff. Is that correct?

3. It seems that the game is not as full of cookie builds and that the variation from character to character is impressing. Am I right about that?

Thanks in advance for any answer I get :)

As of now there are no raids, only dungeons and hard modes (which are probabaly more challenging than most raids in other games) as for planned raid idk its really kinda messy. There is a Nexus which is like rifts in Rift so not really a raid. And there are rumor there will be 10-20man raids but no real confirmation so idk for sure,

Pretty much, early lvl might feel a bit choppy and slow due to root animations (which plays a big part in making the combat good and skill based) but as your progress and get more skill that feel really does away.

Really depends on how you view it, if your looking for very noticable different from first glance than no, everyone get all the skills. But there isn't really any cookie builds because as far as glyph goes its all personal taste, there will be like 2-3 gylph you should always have but other than that its your choice. What really seperate the player is how a person plays. Because there is no real set rotation on what you do so 2 player with exact same build feel like completely different character depending on their play style.

Thanks in advance for any answer I get :)

As was mentioned, it's important to note that many abilities have an animation. This helps in broadcasting your move and allowing the recipient to make a decions (quickly) on what what to do.

I hesitate to say it's as smooth as a "WoW" or other such game where players can constantly be moving while they attack. Some like it and some do not.

Also, the game starts off slowly as far as abilities so some players might be put off by your "two" abilities right out of the gate. Still, I've seen in chat some people having difficulty getting used to it so this is probably done on purpose.

Tera is a great game and I love it, but if raiding is a heavy factor to you. You may want to wait a little bit, if its not a heavy factor, I'd say jump in.

I play for both the PvP and PvE, Im on a PvP server. I get ganked here and there but I also go on PKer hunts, and GVG's.

(If being ganked is a problem for you go to a PvE server)
