TSW conspiracy question

The intro to the trailers state, "It's all true."

I'm curious. Do they actually put existing conspiracies into the content?

Or do they make some up for the sake of the game?

Will there be anything like an Area 51 or JFK conspiracy?

What about Urban Legends and myths? ie: Bloody Mary, the killer that's calling you is INSIDE the house, etc..

It's not about fighting, it's about balance. It's not about enlightenment, it's about balance. It's not about balance.

I'd tell you but then the Illuminati would have to kill you.

They mean every urban legend, new agey thing, classic modern myths from the last 150 yrs, pretty safe stuff, I don't think they are going to touch 9/11 truth movement, or Obama's birth certificate, or AIDS being a plot, FEMA camps or anything controversial, stuff really nutty or politically charged people or are into. Ragnar and Co seem rather niave about how sick conspiracies can get. Its more about the supernatual in a Lovecraftian sense, they don't seem to be even aware of many more recent ones.

Most conspiracies theories I find are either the products of disturbed minds, (paranoid schizophrenia for e.g.) or are rationalizations for ideas that have no merit, the last desperate non-falsifiable explanation for why all experts (that they have to discredit) have evidence (that has to be fake) against their ideas that they hold for no good reason, Holocaust denial, Creationism, the autism/vaccination “connection”, medieval church anti-Semitic  legends, (and modern racist or Islamic ones) the left’s conspiracies about the Bushes, the rights about Obama and the Clintons.
Quite frankly, if you have to claim a conspiracy is at work among those who know better than your intended audience, chances are you’re a fool or a fraud. It’s kind of the opposite of the pier review system, sell your ideas to the least qualified to assess them, and pre-emptively account for expertise that de-bunk you.

This is my problem, Funcom are dealing with some potentially nasty stuff. Still, haven’t seen any nuts or insufferable ideologues in the game so far.

I know for a fact that 9/11 stuff and the like are not included in the game.  They will be focusing primarily on Urban Legend stuff.  OH and for some reason Aliens aren't in it too.  Not sure why.  Maybe too sci-fi?

Ragnar and Co are more into horror and mystery, in the classic Poe to Universal Pictures horror era way, they even site the modern Mummy movies for inspiration, the most sci fi we may get will be ancient or lost technology, as in Agartha and the city on the moon, though a popular idea on the offical forums is that aliens will be a major theme for an expansion.

Most of the things you mention have little to no appeal outside the US (and I'm not sure they're appealing even there). They still have a lot of stuff to cover and I believe there was a video with various titles regarding myths and conspiracy theories. Ah found it:
