Was anyone really expecting any? PVP maybe, but we dont pay a monthly fee so there isn't any motivation to pump out new content all the time

It's not an MMO. I'd expect expansions or some other sort of buyable DLC, but never a content patch.

Not unexpected. A paid expansion by this time next year wouldn't suprise me though......

I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil

They better change their mind is all I have to say about it, either that or come out with regular substantial expansions.

IIRC D2 only had a couple of content patches.

    Let's see...

    1.01 Bugfixes and improvements

    1.02 Bugfixes and improvements

1.03 (big patch) Bugfixes, improvements and balance

    1.04 Bugfixes and improvements

    1.04b Bugfix

    1.05 Bufixes, improvements and balance

    1.05b Bugfix

    1.06 Improvement

    1.06b Bugfix and TOS update

1.07 Balance, bugfixes, improvements and modifications to systems

1.08 (LoD patch) Balance, bugfixes, improvements and mods

1.09 (LoD and Standard)  Balance, bugfixes, improvements and mods

    1.09b Fix

    1.09c Fix

    1.09d Fix

1.10 Lots of changes in this one, some new content with "superunique" monsters

1.11 Lots of changes, some new content with the bosses

    1.11b fixes

    1.12 Downloadable installer

1.13c (other 1.13s were public test) New boss even, more fixes

So no real new "content" in D2 except for the Xpac and some "events". Wouldn't expect much more from D3, just hope we get more than 1 xpac.

As was stated, only LOD was put out in D2, so I don't expect that much besides bug patches.

It would be nice if they actually made a TRUE MMORPG in the Diablo Universe. It would be interesting.......

There is no point of doing a true mmo. The whole point of D3 is fun small group dungeon hack & slash and progrssion.

I do agree they need to start adding something to the game on a regular basis. I'd expect them to constantly add new items drops though. With no bind on equip then the amount they make on the RMT will get lower and lower as the market gets saturated. By adding newer and better items at a constant rate they would ensure regular income from RMT. So it's in their, Blizzards, best interest to keep content coming in one way or another. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw certain things become bindable to accounts once they have been equipped for the first time though.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
  • MykellMykell Member UncommonPosts: 780

I'd expect them to patch the game since once the RMT auction house comes online they will be making money off of it presumably, so they have an incentive to support the game so people keep playing and hopefully using it.

uhh... duh?  What major content patches did one or two have?  Or even TQ or  DS?

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.

Does this mean that PvP won't be in untill an expansion comes out?

  • grcpangrcpan Member Posts: 2

They will probably release many expansions since there is no monthly fee.

I'd like a Diablo themed MMO.

Warcraft's whole point before WoW was to be a competitive RTS.

On second thought, it seems WoW killed the regular Warcraft series...no Diablo MMO please, I'd like to see Diablo 4 in about 20-30 years...

This one is funny. Let me explain.

A lot of people is telling us who complain about online only mode, that ITS NOT A SINGLE PLAYER GAME!!! It's not? How do you justify that? There is no argument to justify it. But okay, let's say for argument sake it's not a single player game. Then surely for an online game we should expect content updates? I wonder how long it will take for people to see the irnoy, and wake the hell up.

The game is FINE we all know that. Online only is not, in any shape or form. And you CAN oppose it, and still like the game. Don't let them get away with it, have a god damn backbone.

  • shadow9d9shadow9d9 Member UncommonPosts: 374

Why would they?  Suckers have already paid full price to play the same tiny areas over and over...

I think this article can be filed in the "duh" category.

    Shadow's Hand Guild
    Open recruitment for

    The Secret World - Dragons

    Planetside 2 - Terran Republic

    Tera - Dragonfall Server

Or what? you will stop paying them monthly fee? internet is crazy these days. I never had to read such 'duh' comments during D2 era.

As soon as people stop downloading games and playing them for free on the PC companys will stop requiring online to play single player.  You don't like it dont buy the game that is the biggest message you could send them.  Until you sit in a room and plan the development of a PC game please just shut up about it you have no understanding how much piracy hurts the PC gaming market.  The issue isnt you downloading a game and playing a game you would otherwise not buy its that people who would otherwise BUY it download it also.   You know how much these games cost to develop ?   talking a few hundred people all who make 50-100k a year for a 3+ year period and thats not counting the voice acting or writers.

Piracy isn't the only reason they did this. It isn't even the main reason. The truth is they're trying to build Battlenet into a social gaming community centered around their games. They're leveraging their product to increase brand loyalty and profitability. It's a very clever move.

From the looks of the feedback, I'd say the loyalty portion isn't going very well for them.

you'll be waiting about  5 years for blizzard to develope an average expansion. Blizzard are not the gods you think they are. i'm going  to go out on a limb and say titan will be an epic failure, it will be compared to wow in every aspect and wont reach half the numbers.

  • IstavaanIstavaan Member Posts: 1,350

I'll just play guild wars 2, it cost the same as diablo doesn't have a monthly fee like diablo but it will receive major content updates. if diablo 3 is on a mmo site then its justified to compare it on mmo terms, afterall you can't play it offline.

Look at other online coop games. . or PvP games even that are not MMOs.  Battlefield.  Was there new content for that?  I remember buying expansions.  It is not an MMO as we think of it.  There is no persistant world that will get updates and new quests as people progress.  It is a one story. . one shot game.  Likely there are exansions in the future.

I agree though. . even those other games had an offline mode. . even if it sucked.

Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!
