space combat aka "Alliance" (anyone remember that one?)
fps choice for pew pews
republic or empire run planets depending on outcome of space/ground battles .. weekly or monthly ..
Tera type combat for jedi/sith ... (sorry for that reference but when i play it I can't help but wonder what swtor would have been like with that combat model)
guild run cities end game
ea/bioware needs to have a look at all the goodness that swg had to offer and integrate it into swtor.
keep the game as is to lvl to top add the rest in from there. (ok maybe some changes along the way)
it can be done .. money is no object .. george has tons.

The existing game is so limited in design and functionality that new richer features simply cannot be 'bolted on'. The whole game would have to be dismantled and reconstructed to add the kind of playability you are suggesting.
This ^^
That's why the sooner it's gone the sooner someone else can take a stab at it. If they're not too afraid to now.
Greatest IP in the world and we get this. /shame
nice one,made me laugh.
I agree with that statement actually. But, there are too many bugs, no end game, dead servers, and no grouping tools. So, those things make that statement irrelevant.
I hear you, but AAA developers need to launch games without so many issues. There is no excuse this day and age.
Your right they do. I can't agrue with that statment. They need much better testers that will live and breath the games they make. Not just be like oh its time to clock out ill come in tomorrow. There not enough passion in the gaming world anymore. Its just big business.

EA/Bioware have built a game around corridors. I don't see how they could implement what you want. They would need at least an expansion bringing new worlds, an improved game design and new mechanisms. Even SWG: Jump to LightSpeed was not that ambitious.
I'm not optimistic on the chances to ever see again a Star Wars mmorpg. If you look at the companies who have the financial resources to buy the licence:
_EA: They are facing a takeover bid from Nexus because of SW:ToR. They can also blame Warhammer Online, another franchise that didn't work out.
_Blizzard: They have their own franchise, they are probably not interested by StarWars. Moreover, if they ever want to create something else than a fantasy, Starcraft belongs to them.
_Nexus, Funcom, NCSoft: Asians companies don't seem interested by western IP. They even start to look scared of our market. (ArchAge) Too many good mmorpg have been buried alive in Europe and America. Why would they risk exporting a new game if it is only to be tagged with a bad reputation?
_$o€: Surprisingly, I think they are in the best position. But it's still very unlikely. Lucas Art retake their licence for a reason.
If you don't like ToR as it is now, you better move on. I wasted 2 years on Fallen Earth waiting for the devs to introduce housing. It never came.
