Aion looks better, Fallen Earth *is* better... but if you are the type to infatuate with your character so much that you can play something dead-boring, Aion works.

I heard that a recent update in Fallen Earth limits the capabilities of the F2P player.. it only allows 1 crafting slot for example. tbh, I might not get either.. have any suggestions for good F2P games? high player base preferably.
Not all to sure about a crafting queue limitation, but completely froob accts can only hold 2 red chips at a time (currency). I bought the game when it was new, so I have a 'legacy' acct that has no restrictions, but if you buy anything off the CS it tags you and unlocks any and all limitations.
Otherwise, I dunno. Most F2P games are fairly lame, and there's plenty of what-was subscription games (now F2P) that are just as lame. Try DDO or LotRO if it floats your boat, but their method sucks donkey balls. You miss out on a lot of mid-to-end range content if you don't outright pay for it in adventure packs. I stopped plaything them ma'self.
If you are the social type and don't require total handholding, try Face of Mankind, but do your research first. It's a political game with factions that act as a certain *role* in player-society. It's not good to go into it blind and assuming it's some FFA-shooter with no rules... that's how people make enemies and end up hating it.
