Wise words - advice already taken with sub cancellation - roll on GW2 or Secret World ?
My warrior hit 45 last night(got from 44 to 45 in one day, maybe about 2-2.5 hours of play time). The game is not grindy for me as I mix in bams, questing, and dungeons. As for the cut and paste models, I've seen it, I'll agree. But currently in westonia, these are new mobs. As for the same rotation, sure. But...that...is in..every other mmo? wut? It hardly changes in other MMOs once you get your core abilities. At least in this game you arent tab targeting.
As for cancelling your sub and heading to GW2 or TSW. #1, I hear TSW is trash and a slow paced game. #2, GW2 questing is better for the most part, at least at first. If you dont level quick enough, you'll end up doing the SAME EXACT dynamic events, over and over instead of doing a quest once. If you do a DE once in GW2, log off, come back later, chances are you'll be doing that SAME EXACT event again. Im not bashing GW2, but I dont think its as dynamic as people think it is. Maybe I am playing the game wrong, which Ive never played an MMO or a game wrong, I thought there was no correctway. But I keep doing the same dynamic events, twice or even three times before I can move into a higher lvl area.
Are you exploring and finding all the other things besides DEs that there are to do out there? I only repeateded one DE between level 1 and 12 and it was because I enjoyed it. I waited around and did it TWICE more and had a ball all 3 times. I know I'm not very high level yet, but that's because I've found so many other things to do, like even crafting and EXPLORING. Exploring leads into all kinds of "quests," so to speak. You don't have to just keep repeating DEs, you just have to play the game like it's an exploration instead of the same ol' BS we've been playing for years in other games.
OP, I'm sorry to hear TERA isn't working out for you. I hate grinding too. If I'm going to have to grind, it had better be WELL disguised as FUN....so much so that I can't tell it's a grind at all. I played WoW for too long to not hate grinding. I just can't do it. I don't WANT to do the same instance 50 times or have to kill 200 raptors to get 10 raptor hearts. No thank you.

Yes, instead of a quest to collect 10 raptor hearts you would much rather have a dynamic event that has a bar that fills up each time you get a raptor heart.

if the raptors were attacking a town and a group of us were defending it or perhaps I was escorting a caravan that was getting ravaged by them then yes yes I would... if you really compare stuff liek this to running out to find static raptors sitting in the same locations all the time and doing this over and over then well guess TERA is the game for you.

Lol, I love these people that can t figure out that theres more to it then that. Static mobs roaming around in a little area, compared to, mobs attacking a town, they re slightly different. Teras quest are nothing like GW2 DEs, even if the goal is the same, it s whats involved to get there.

Hell the fuck yes! I would rather see the raptors charging at me, trying to kill me, than see them standing in a field waiting 1 by 1 ready to be killed. I also love the chance that I can actually fail in pushing them back.
The only thing I want to know is that since you played a Mystic, were you actually any good at healing? If so, why didn't you just level through the dungeons?
And if you're not, are we supposed to actually feel bad that you're leaving?

Is there a difference? Yes.
Is it another $60 + unconfirmed release date of waiting difference? Not really.
Well, I think Tera's levelling has finally got he better of me. Main character (mystic) is now in the low 50's and yet another reiteration of Jesters have appeared.
I levelled in Aion straight from original launch which was significantly slower than Tera, so it's not the pace of levelling - it's the sheer monotonous boredom of the whole levelling thing.
I've mentioned the cut and paste characters before - but actually, it's not the appearance that's the main issue. It's the fact that they all do exactly the same attacks - in the same order - over and over again - level after level.
Consequently the way you deal with these mobs reflects this. The skill progession is also geared to the cut and paste mob attacks. Repeat visits to the trainer just give the next hike in the main single and aoe skills - They could have saved you the time and trouble here and just have them autoscale.
Looking back, I have been using exactly the same mechanic on mobs for the last 40+ levels - send thrall in to group mobs - run in - aeo - run in - aoe - run in - aoe.............................
This looks like the first mmo where I have'nt taken at least one character to the cap lvl. Mind you, from what I'm hearing about end game, that may not be a bad thing at the moment.
My advice is don't try to complete the game so quick, take time and actually play the game. In vanilla wow , it took atleast 5-6months to level my first character, I took time to explore every nook and cranny and I RP'd alot, these sort of time sinks take some of the monotany out of the grind
There are times when one must ask themselves is it my passion that truly frightens you? Or your own?
