No there is not an ongoing beta right now, but i am expecting one this Friday, if not next. It will be a 2.5 day BWE again. I highly suggest you download the client from the forum and update it so you wont have any problems later

    What is Pre-Purchase?

Customers who pre-purchase the game pay for the game in full and will enjoy guaranteed access to our Beta Weekend Events, three-day Headstart Access to the final game, and the Hero's Band digital item designed to enhance your gameplay experience.

What if I don't want to pay in full in advance?

In addition to Pre-Purchase, a number of our retail partners are offering Pre-Order programs. Customers who pre-order will receive one-day Headstart Access to the final game.

Which products are available for Pre-Purchase?

Customers will be able to pre-purchase the Guild Wars 2 Digital Edition and the Guild Wars 2 Digital Deluxe Edition directly from NCsoft. In addition to the digital products, certain retailers will also be offering physical Pre-Purchase of the Guild Wars 2 Standard Edition and the Guild Wars 2 Collector's Edition.

Are Pre-Purchase benefits available for physical copies of Guild Wars 2?

Yes. If you pre-purchase a physical product through a retailer, you will receive access to our Beta Events, 3-day Headstart Access, and the Hero's Band in-game item.

    How does physical Pre-Purchase work?

Physical Pre-Purchase for Guild Wars 2 is only available at select retailers. The details of how this will work will differ slightly depending on which edition customers purchase and where they purchase it.

    • Standard Edition (North America)—Customers who pre-purchase the Guild Wars 2 Standard Edition will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code in different ways depending on where it was purchased.
      • U.S. customers will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code on a store receipt or in an email from the retailer.
      • Canadian customers will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code inside of the Standard Edition Pre-Purchase box.
      • Customers in Australia and New Zealand will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code on a Standard Edition Pre-Purchase card.

Every customer will then go to https://register.guildwars2.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Guild Wars 2 account and apply the Pre-Purchase serial code. This will give them access to Beta Weekend Events, the Hero's Band digital item, and three-day Headstart Access to the final game.

When Guild Wars 2 launches, customers will need to return to the retailer with proof of purchase in order to receive the full Standard Edition box and the retail serial code. They'll need to apply this retail serial code to their Guild Wars 2 account within five days of launch to continue playing without interruption.

    • Standard Edition (Europe)—Customers will buy the Standard Edition Pre-Purchase box and receive their serial code. This is the only serial code customers will receive and will grant access to the Beta Weekend Events, three-day Headstart Access, the Hero's Band digital item, and full access to the final live game. Customers will not need to return to the retailer to receive another serial code.
    • Collector's Edition (North America and Europe)—Customers will buy the Collector's Edition Pre-Purchase box and receive a Pre-Purchase serial code. They will then go to https://register.guildwars2.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Guild Wars 2 account and apply the serial code, which will give them access to Beta Weekend Events and three-day Headstart Access to the final game. When Guild Wars 2 launches, customers will need to return to their retailer with proof of purchase to receive the full Collector's Edition box with physical items and retail serial code. They will need to apply this retail serial code to their Guild Wars 2 account within five days to continue playing without interruption.

Which countries and retailers will offer Pre-Purchase or Pre-Order?

A list of countries and participating retailers is located here. We will continue to add to this list, so check back often.

In other words: No there is no BWE for pre-order people. You have to Pre-Purchase to get BWE access.

There is no ongoing beta event right now.

Also, the only way to guarantee access to beta events is to prepurchase the game. If you signed up for beta access back in February, then there's a chance you could be randomly selected for access a beta event.

    Thanks all,

I am looking hard at this game but would have realy liked to get into a beta to give it a test run, even though betas are not finished product, it still would give me a pretty good idea on weather id like this one or not.

I wasnt a real big fan of the first GW, but from what ive ready this one will be more full world mmo where as the frist one you only interacted with people in your group or in cities.

Well you're not in a beta, you can try watching some of the THOUSANDS OF GAMEPLAY VIDEOS that are available with a simple youtube search. Or if you're that busy "having a life" and crap, then watch this simple overview.

I wasn't a huge fan of GW1 either. This game is very different, not just from GW, but most every other mmorpg out there. Watch some videos and read up on articles!

    From Facebook:

We know you are all very eager to begin the next Beta Weekend Event. Our community did an amazing job in the previous Beta Weekend Event and stress tests, providing our team with great feedback. Our goal has always been to do this right and treat the beta testing process as what it should be: a way to work out the bugs beforehand and give you the best game we possibly can at launch.

With that as our goal, the development team is working extremely hard to address your current feedback and prepare Guild Wars 2 for the next Beta Weekend Event. Once they're finished, they'll be ready for you to head back to Tyria for the next phase of testing.

We're going to adhere to a monthly schedule as much as feedback and development allow, so it may be a little more or a little less each time, depending on how things progress. For now, we will have more information on upcoming Beta Weekend Events and stress tests as soon as we're able, and we thank each of you for being an important part of the creation of Guild Wars 2. ~RB2
