not unless they add a ton more content and fast... right now I'm already getting bored in my 20s just not that much to do in the game. Combat system also isn't as good as they make it out to be to top it off the classes are very limited and to few options with abilities even with glyphs.. nothing is fun about getting to the next level and getting nothing but version 5 of the exact same ability you have been using the last 20 levels. To me just not enough options in this game compared to others out right now and especially ones on the horizon, the art is nice and characters look great so they got that going for them.
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. I'm curious as to why you are actually playing when your previous posts indicated that you weren't really much of a fan?
I seem to recall someone indicated that $15 per month was 50 cents per day and you replying back that there was better use of that money such as feeding starving children which was going to be your option.
My thought is that you wont enjoy the game, this game or any game, if you are set to hate it no matter what. I would question why you are playing a game you dont' think much of especially if there is no draw to play it.
If you are not on a pvp server then I would recommend trying that. If you have fought some BAMS, done a few dungeons and still don't think much of the game then it's not going to be for you.
Adding new content won't benefit you in the 20's so if you are feeling that the game is lacking for you it's not going to get better.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
No, unfortunately I don't see it as a game that builds subs over time, especially with GW2 and TSW on the imminent horizon.
It will end up as a gem of a game that many won't appreciate because as evidenced too many players can't see the forest as they overlook all the trees around them.
The game is curious as the features individually aren't revolutionary but taken as a sum of its parts the title is more fun than I expected it to be.
Also, I don't see it having a long term end game to retain players at this point. (only so many small dungeons you can reroll before you weary of them)

I will no longer make assumptions and predictions about this game. It rolls under a different reality that doesn't follow the rules of perception for some reason.
Before the game launched I used to trash talk about it based on thongs and Elins. Then a single beta weekend made me swallow my words and come to enjoy it to the degree I no longer had any inclination to try anything else. Same things with other internal assumptions I made within the game that again made me retract them.
So who knows. The general standard for 99% of game's is a sharp spike followed by a sharp decline until an equilibrium point is reach and stability is achieved. The fact remains this one had a lot of hype a year ago, somehow it lost it and flew under the radar and people are joining by word of mouth.
The other game's coming up have their own baggage strengths and weaknesses. If you are into TSW chances are TERA is not for you and viceversa.
And yeah, the second poster. Why do you torture yourself so? Just quit and do something else. Otherwise if it's not self torture it merely becomes trolling and I do not believe you would engage in such things.
I am not sold and maybe I will be proved wrong but the game already flopped in Korea for which it was made for... Hard to think it will succeed here but maybe I will be proved wrong.

I know what a flop! It went from first place and setting record numbers for most concurrent users on at one time in Korea to 8th place due to a premature launch. Then it went on to climb back up to 2nd and 3rd most played MMO in Korea. We all know second place is a flop! Then it went further by releasing in 2 additional markets!

I jumped on the $25 sale from amazon.com as I beat diablo 3 and don't have really much to play now till TSW comes out and I love the artwork in TERA as I'm an anime nut.. I know games probably not going to get better for me and it's sad because it has potential for me but falls flat in so many areas its frustrating.. I think soon we will have some indications about it. May is almost finished, and many ppl (including me) will have to decide whether to pay for next month or not. Off course if Tera won't be able to keep a lot of those first clients, than I don't think it will be gaining many new ones.

But there have been a slew of other games just like it over the last 7 years, Tera has great combat but other than that, it is more vanilla WoW than WoW is right now. There just isn't anything to it beyond the combat. It will be compareable to Aion in the end I think, sub wise.
It's a shame, because honestly, after playing Tera for a couple of weeks, I went back to TSW beta and the GW2 stress test and the combat in both games just felt so bland compared to the visceral feel of Tera. Damn Asians have ruined me!

Yeah it is quite a shame, and uncalled for.
Regardless the game is not going to get better if by now you are not enjoying it. With that said, the combat does get quite interesting later on, and for the life of me I do not understand why the PVE solo combat was so ridiculously simple early in the game. I also do not understand why they launched with so many PVE servers, it was obvious early on the PVP servers were a LOT more exciting. And the leveling was TOO fast up until 52.
The dungeons are extremely interesting, I enjoyed the art-style of the environments eventhough I really do not like the anime art direction. The game was worth the initial purchase, I doubt I will stay subscribed. I will probably come back a later date to check out the changes.
All in all I had more fun than I had in other game purchases, including console games, that I recently bought (yeah I'm looking at you Diablo 3). It felt more like a hack-n-slash with just massive people around than a MMO, and for that I am grateful. They have something good with Tera. Let's see where they take it in the future.
I think not. With highly anticipated titles like Diablo 3, TSW, and GW2 whenever it releases, this game is going to take many hits on subs, just common sense.

Tera, one of the most generic, boring, lifeless games will grow over time, I think not. It will decline from here on out, IMO. There just nothing it does that will keep people subbed, and not try out the games coming out, or make people realize the games they left to go play it is better.
I can t remember a time, I played a game that took a big leap backwards in an MMO, as Tera.

Because I CAN take a big leap backwards is the reason I can't agree the game is a big leap backwards as an MMO. The gameplay is a giant leap forward, and any current and future game that ignores it is a dangerous oversight for their success.
I don't think TERA can change the rest of the game in time to have a second wave of subscribers, but it's in less danger of a wholesale exodus than some other games out there.
If Guild Wars 2 could shoehorn more of a TERA-style combat gameplay into what they already have, they'd have an awesome game coming out, instead of just very good. A future game will put all the puzzle pieces together and truly step up to the next-gen MMO everyone's waiting for.
I feel bad for any games in development that aren't post-WOW in features - they have to see the D0MED sign if they don't have the new gameplay innovations in place. They'll have to scrap and rebuild their systems for any chance of success.

Sorry, but IMO, it s combat isn t anything great at all. What does this give you. A terrible adaptation, of everything thats come out for years. The worst part of it all is they do it worse then most games. This is my opinion, and as such I think Tera will drop to 1-2 servers, within a year, definately not gain subs.

This game, to me, feels like a F2P game with a sub. Due to that, I dont' see it getting subs over time at all but rather losing them, until it is forced to either close or turn F2P.

IMO will depends the close future updates/patchs and how publishers will behave.
"They" need to be good and fast with updates, players nowdays dont want to wait to much.
Enmass start well it seems, Frogster not really.
Im curiosity to see the state of TERA, TSW and GW2 in january 2013.
3 big mass titles that make 2012 a great year for most of gamers around.
(even im not hype yet to any of them, but i know i belong to minority)
