Me and my best friend have moved quite a long way from each other and thus dont hang out as much as we used to.
Therefor we're looking for an mmorpg that we can play together... We want something that isn't "stressful" if you know what i mean.. we want to be able to take our time and be able to chat without hurrying while we play....
Any suggestions?

World Of Warcraft is probably your best bet.
Exept WoW... I hate anything that has to do with Warcraft...
What about EVE?

If Sci-fi is your thing, then that would be anyother good game for you. Have you ever tried WoW? I absolutely hated their normal Warcraft games, I never knew why I bought one of them. WoW is alot different though.
I don't like the Warcraft "universe" so to speak... that's why..
But i've heard that EVE is kinda tedious... is this right?

To me Eve is tedious but you may absolutely love the game. It is however extremely complex and very well made. Give it a try if you are into sci-fi.
Also try Anarchy Online.
Eve is an awesome game. I play CoH, mostly because I have a kid and can't afford to make the time investment that most MMOs require. Eve is great, check it out. The biggest thing that I think turns people off of Eve is that the way you advance you skills is to get a book and start "reading" it. THis takes time, and there is no way to speed it up (except learnign skills that reduce your time to learn). Some skills take days to learn, even weeks, but you learn while you are loggedo n or off. Very large world with lots to do, very cool community.
It sounds to me like you may also enjoy City of Heroes. There isn't a ton of stuff to do (mostly just fighting an leveling, PvP coming very soon), but wht's there is very well done. The combat is fun and rather fast paced for an MMO no matter what archetype you play. The community is one of the best I have seen, very friendly and almost no l337 kiddies. The Devs are some of the most friendly and responsive I have ever seen, they really listen to and try to address player concerns. City of Villains is also due out this summer (though I think it more likely late this year), which will add a ton of depth to the game.

Yes Eve is a bit tedious, and is a little fustrating in the beginning, trying to get your self established. But it is fun once you get a hold of the ropes, and the visuals are impressive to say the least. I got bored after a few months playing, but thats just me.
There's a lot of MMOG's out there, all of which have their weaknesses and strengths. None are just right for everyone and a few you either love or hate.
My personal suggestions
1.) Ultima Online - If you can get past the lack of bleeding edge graphics, there is enough in this game to keep you busy for a VERY long time. A key plus at least for me is you NEVER have to enter combat unless you so choose. Visit the official site for skill details. Your welcome to PM if you have more questions about UO as I have been a loyal player for 7 years.
2.) Darkage of Camelot - My wife and I played DAoC for about 2 years together and had a blast. We meet some nice people and spent many sleepless nights playing. There is some serious PvP here, but you need to be a high level to be of any use to your comrads. There is crafting as well, and can be profitable due to running errands for local NPC's. Check out the official site for more info.
3.) Asheron's Call - My wife and I also played AC before DAoC came out. Like Ultima, the graphics are not bleeding edge but are nice none the less. Lots of possiblities here and is very laid back. Crafting is also avalible, and there are PvP servers. This is my second favorite MMOG, after to Ultima Online. Your welcome to PM about AC as well, although I have not been back to play for sometime, and somethings have changed.
Just a few suggestions.
about EVE... Where can I get it? It's nowhere to be found in the stores... is it downloadable only?
and what about expansions?

Eve can be found here:

CoH can be found here:
ftp://client.coh.com/US/
Hope you find a good game you can play with your friend. A good long time friend of mine recently moved quite far away (15+ hour drive), and we use CoH to stay in touch.
Good luck!

Was that a download for a free trial of COH? If so, were do you get a key to actually play it?
I don't know of any free trial for CoH that is open to all, they did a Vlentine's day deal where a subscriber could give away a 14 dfay trial, I'll ask around and see if any of my friends have any keys left for that.
Expansions for CoH (called Issues) happen every few months, the one they're about to release (Issue 4) will include PvP arenas, new costume options, etc. They have in the past added Epic Archetypes (classes) that you can unlock one you get a character to max level (50), new powers, the ability to add effects to your character (glowy eyes, stuff like that) with Issues. Issues are free, but City of Villains will cost. I have seen CoV referred to a both a sequel and an expansion, I don't relly know whats up with that. I do know that CoH and CoV will work together, but the Devs haven't really said a whole lot about it. They also have not said whether CoH+CoV=2 subscriptions fees or one, though I know there will be a lot of pissed off players if its 2 separate fees.
As for which to choose, pick Eve if you want to really sink your teeth into a game, pick CoH if you just want to relax and socialize. Eve is probably the deepest MMO is existence, it is extremely well thought out and detailed.

Cool, if you do happen to find any keys, theely@gmail.com or just leave me a message on here if you want (Thats if you want to give me a key lol). I'd highly appreciate it though.
As for the separate fees, if that happens I think that would be one of the more lame things I've ever seen a game do lol. I don't think they will.
Yeah, me too please rigvandre@hotmail.com
btw, EVE was weird! REALLY complicated...
