Anyways, here is the text of the quote:

The game is going to be playable at E3, my guess is the beta is coming shortly after that. *crosses fingers!*
Just to be clear, this does not mean the beta has started. They are just getting ready for it!

Have they mentioned anything about teir payment model?
Everything I've seen is that it's going to be FTP.
The cash shop will have cosmetics and weapon/vehicle sidegrades. They have beenclear that they dont want to sell anything tha adds "power" but they will sell weapons that let you customize your playstyle. You might be able to buy a gun that does more damage but loses accuracy or fire rate or something. I think there might be boosts for xp and resources as well.
They have hinted that there might be an optional sub that would allow you to gain resource and possibly cert points faster, but haven't offered any concrete info there.

PS2 is going to be one game I ll spend countless hours on, and one that if I m as into as PS1 will make me lose sleep like good old out of the blue DAOC relic raids. God I lost alot of sleep over those 2 games, now I m sure I will with this game.

Im hoping beta starts soon cause I've had my beta key entered since March... :l I guess I can wait a few more weeks
They probably will have a subscription like all their games but with a F2P option as well hope sub-based get some perks though kinda like DC Universe does with free Station Cash each month and other goodies.
Yeah, but 'F2P' is a nebulous area with SOE...
I get Cold's question, I want to see details on this before I get TOO excited for the game.
From what has been stated from TBs livestream, they said everything is unlockable by ingame means, except for vehicle, weapon, character skins and XP boosts. Don't know if there will be anything else or not in the CS tho.
hehe SOE SAY a lot of things... that's part of why I am not super excited about the game like I should be.
I remember when SOE SAID there would never be a cash shop in EQ2...
They are the expert frog boilers.
Everyone needs to remember that SOE as a company are the biggest liars in the industry.
Ye I'm hoping they take a queue from games like LoL, Tribes Ascend or even WoT to a degree(leaving out the stupid gold ammo), that have, let's say a fair shop and seem to do well, especially LoL, because I think people are more inclined to use a CS when they see it as fair and hope they realise this also. Remains to be seen, as you say, tho.
Tribes Ascend? They outright sell power, I hope they stay clear of that cash shop model. The idea of selling different appearance, camo's, lights, sights and all around showy type stuff seems to be their emphasis and I'm going to live with that, but the second they sell flat out upgrades... nah in a pure pvp game that has no place. I will happily spend money on showy crap especially given the shere amount of options there is for that in ps, but power buying your way to better gear is a big piss right off to me, even for ps which is frankly my love.

Hmm, except for maybe like 2-3 weapons, that can be considered more powerful than their alternatives, I found most TA weapons to be sidegrades. I agree, on weapons, unlocks cost a bit much, but they are accesible in game, you're not buying stuff out of game. From what you are saying, I think being able to buy XP boosts will bother you, since it does make someone get more versatility faster, get different weapons faster than someone not paying.
You know what that means to me. As long as they make enought money they (they will never make enough money) they won't sell items that add power.

Idk, in a way they kind of did buy to win, since u can buy xp boosts and money boosts (which can buy turrets/grenades/vechs). So if the richest empire is winning...thats why.
However, that being said it is a FPS, so items will only get you so far.
