The game itself is still called ARMA 2 and not DayZ.
DayZ is just a modification out of hundreds of mods available for Arma 2. There are even more rpg mods out there for Arma 2 and not only DayZ, so there will be "offtopic" discussions aswell.
You cant buy DayZ in any store, but you can buy Arma 2.
And if we want to be more precise: You need Arma 2: CO or Arma 2 + Arma Operation Arrowhead to play the modification DayZ not just Arma 2 alone.
This is just a suggestion, to prevent confusion and would add the proper name of the game like all other ones on mmorpg.com.

I agree to some degree its indeed a mod and its Arma 2: DayZ.
But almost all players who play DayZ playing it only for the MOD not for Arma 2, myself included im realy not intrested at all in Arma 2 im intrested in DAYZ the zombie survival mod.

I understand you, but I just wanted to say that if someone is browsing the game forums from A-Z the listed game names should be the ones you can buy in stores and not just a name of a mod which are mostly in subforums. You cant buy the DayZ and you cant play DayZ, you need a game for it which should be listed so newcomers know what game it is about at least. Thats why my suggestion with Arma2: DayZ.
The reason it's DayZ instead of Arma2: DayZ is because without this mod, it's not an MMO.
Side note: Thank you MMORPG.com for listing this gem. It's the most MMO-like MMO I've played since Mortal Online.

You could, but then DayZ would look even more unappealing because ArmA is a buggy mess. At least when you look at DayZ, you can say to yourself 'Well, I bought $30 worth of bugs, but at least I got something out of it'.
It's going to stay DayZ. Thanks! The game list overview clearly describes it as a mod for ARMA 2 and notes the fact it requires people to own ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead.
