[POLL] Best MMO mouse

p_c_sousap_c_sousa Member Posts: 620

hi, what in your opinion is the best MMO mouse? in this poll dont enter mouse with few buttons like mx518, etc, since they arent MMO mouses.

i have mx518 and i will replace with a MMO mouse, so i can have all my skills on mouse and free left hand to move/dodge/jump.

whant to know your opinion about what is the best MMO mouse for you, if you can vote and give a short explanation about why, will be great.

(sorry for bad english but isnt my 1st language)

Is the G700 the same as the G9X, I heard that one was great and long lasting.

The logitech G9X is leagues better than the G700 now that I googled it lol.

P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

Yea I got the G700, and I got to try the G9X, G9X is better but Logitech as for long lasting and performance are about the best, despite Razer Naga's looking cooler(well to me). Also the number padding for Razer's would do good but I heard from a lot of people they don't last long.

G700 is kind my first choice.

Razer Naga seem good to, but i read some things that i didnt like, like a not so good lazer and some buttons problem.

OP is a fan of GW 2, so I'm assuming he's asking what would be a good mouse to use for it and just in general.

Which I can agree the Logitech G9X Laser, will be ordering mines this thursday a matter of fact lol.

P_C, I would just save an extra 10 dollars I think and get the Logitech G9X.

Im wondering why you want to switch from the ideal mouse IMO. I have the same mouse you do and I wouldnt trade it, especially not for a game where the amount of abilities you can use at one time is limited. The "gaming" mice I have been able to actually hold were too big for comfort so I cant help you make your decision. I am sticking with my own MX518 :)

You don't need anything fancy; just something that works exactly right, every time.  And there are a lot of mice that can claim that--some of which are cheap, too.

I'd presume one with a lot of buttons... but not too many buttons...

My mouse only has 2 extra buttons. I'm screwed.

semm great mouse but i want put all my skills on mouse, with 9 buttons i cant do that.

my mx518 have 8 programable buttons and i love the mouse but have few buttons, need at least 12-13 buttons. xD

as i say i love the mx518 but i want a mouse where i can have always 3 fingers on WASD so i can be always on movement at any direction.

if i dont have all skills on mouse i cant do this, dont know if im explain well this.

PS: i never did a poll before, if i want see results i need to vote? this seem a bit stupid.

Can't comment on the mice in the poll becauase I don't have any experience with them but I have to agree with previous posters about the logitech G9X.

I've been using that mouse for 3 years now and it's the longest a mouse ever lasted for me. It also has all the feats I want and feels comfortable / right for my hand.

Picked Naga because Razer Hex was not listed even though it is the better mouse for GW2.

Logitech G700 - This is a wireless mouse with a terrible battery. The cord supplied is way to stiff. The laser housing is also a dust magnet and requires frequent cleaning. Going head to head with the Razer Naga or Hex it also under performs. The mouse surface also wears off fairly fast making the aesthetic appeal temporary (It's a oogly brown underneath lol).  The mouse also has some issues with stuttering occasionally.

Cyborg MMO 7 - This mouse has potential but ultimately it's just not a good design. The button placement is just awkward. They tend to get into the way of each other and when doing a standard click you can easily hit the Action Lock by accident.

Corsair M90 - Corsair has made many products that I love, this mouse is not one of them lol. The button placement like the Cyborg MMO 7 is awkward. The macro software is absolutely horrid. This mouse is an excercise in frustration and doesn't even perform that well after you finally get it set up.

Steelseries WoW - This one is so flawed it shouldn't even be listed in the poll lol. The ergonics are simply atrocius. Like many of the above the button layout is just awkward. The overall feel of the mouse is in one word "Cheap" and don't be fooled by the number of buttons, you actually will get far more functionality out of any of the other mouses listed in this poll than you will this one. This mouse banks on name alone and delivers very little for the price tag.

I own all of these and several more. Nothing compares to the Razer Naga or Hex when it comes to MMO gaming.

You should always add a 'Just want to see the results' option to polls here, to prevent voting anything just to look.

Incidentally, I voted naga as that's what I use. However I do have to switch back to my deathadder when playing fps. The naga takes quite a bit of getting used to, you will probably hate it when first using it.

I have huge hands and am probably the minority when I say I wish the naga was a bit longer and wider, but I love the mouse it's comfortable and acurate at 5600 dpi.

what is your opinion about lazer? seem a lot of people complain about the lazer if you lift mouse (well with my mx518 i dont lift him so i think if i buy razer naga i will not have any problem).

your left click button still work 100%?

  • NaeviusNaevius Member UncommonPosts: 334

A version of the Naga for those of us with big hands would be nice...

    Still the best mouse, however.

    Cyborg MMO 7.

Having 5 keys at my thumb is great, having the thumb resting on a coolihat with additional 5 keys (4directional and one press down) is amazing.

10 Keys i can "touch" by slightly moving my thumb.

Now add the "shift button" functionallity (like the shift key on your keyboard) for your ring-finger and you are looking at 20 keys just for your thumb.

Add the mousewheel - 3 keys (2 directions + press down) and left + right mouse to it and you are set.
(shift key also gives these keys a secondary assignment).

I don't know about the Razer, but i'd rather use my ringfinger and my thumb to control 10x2 keys instead of having 20 keys to fumble in a matrix layout.

Still not enough? There's a mode swith for your point-finger that switches all keys (including the shift keys) by twoa dditional layers...that's 78 key assignments here. Thought i don't use it because, see below:

If you are smart you better assign keyboard keys to the mouse buttons

    Like mouse button 7 = +
This way you can have shift & +, alt & +, ctrl & + too.
Basically my thumb controls 10 keys, 40 with alt, shift, ctrl from my keyboard added, and if my ring-finger presses the outer right mouse button (shift buttom) it's 80 keys right there.

That's over 6 FULL bars at 12 slots.
I'm still trying to tell myself why i'm still using keyboard keys 1,2,3,4.

"Exactly right" can cover a lot of ground. I've found with MMORPG that the Razer Naga actually works exactly right. Having the buttons on the mouse actually improves MMORPG game play. It takes the input from tolerable to enjoyable. However, that comes with some caveats.

It really only helps with MMORPG. You'll find yourself with two mice on your desk. One for MMORPG, and one for everything else. I've heard of a couple cases where it works great with some video or image editing software, but a tablet probably works better for those.

There's not a lot of variety. You have two sizes, small and bigger. The small one is the first one, and the bigger one is the SWToR or the 'Epic' one.

If you have big hands it probably won't work. It doesn't seem like it matters which one you buy, it really just won't work because they are all kind of small.

It's expensive. It works great with MMORPG, but that's all. If you're not going to spend a lot of time in game using it, the money is really just wasted. It's not the kind of thing where buying all three versions is worth the money (imo). You get the right one right off the bat or you move on to something else that will work.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
