I have to agree with Prof on this one... I never have had any issues either, i mean sometimes the game was down when i wanted to play, but it was for maintenence or patching. Otherwise never a problem or queue to log in etc.. I have 2 40+ characters. Rerolled to WD from barb when i hear they suck in inferno. I don't play 24/7 but i did the first week. No issues for me. I on the other hand did read forums, i never got all the hate. It was always good for me
Barbs are freaking animals in Inferno... once you can gear them.

With friends help, with another class, etc. I agree it needs tweaking. It listed right in my areas for improvement. Once geared though they are animals. They just need an easier way to get gear.
It is a good game. People are really slow in claiming it is bad or terrible. Much like I defended Swtor at being an 'medocor' game, I'll be willing to say this game I enjoy is good but its flawed. People always have such insane dillusions of how a game should be or its bad. Its a big reason the MMO market is sliding down hill. I'll bet Guildwars 2 will end up being considered a failure no matter how well it turns out just cause people seem to be so strict on things not living up to hype.
Again, Diablo 3 is a good game. Is it without flaw? No, I can name plenty, but people who say its bad really must be spoiled by playing some crazy good games and having not seen many other 'gems' that are poorly designed and done. God forbid they play those, they might throw themselves off a cliff.

So, not really an animal then. NO classes are against those one-shot, impossible to kill champ combos. It's a joke.
And the secret level? What a pathetic joke. Replacing the Cow Level with My Little Pony shows exactly what happens when your A-team leaves, ie, Blizzard North.
I'll take a gander when the expansion comes and see if they finally pull their collective heads out. Other than that, it's just not worth the time. I'm glad you're enjoying your time but my guess is the more you play the more you'll dislike this game. More and more gamers are coming to the conclusion that the game just isn't very good, in fact it's disappointing. Waiting a decade for this nonsense? Whatever.

I don't believe for a second you've never experienced server issues if you've played since launch.
You WILL get hacked without an authenticator. It's not a matter of if, but when. You think you're smart, but hackers who feed their families selling your items are smarter.
Your gold auction house "mini-game" will soon be a real money mini-game. With blizzard taking a double cut of every transaction.
That being said, Diablo 3 was fun for a playthrough of normal. If Blizzard didn't charge $60 for it I'm sure "haters" would be much less upset. As it stands, with the way drops/inferno is tuned, the game is more a scam to make Blizzard money than an actual game.

Stopped reading at I am a 60 Demon Hunter...LOL! No shit you can farm inferno all day long and you think the game is great. That class is so easy mode it is boring to play.
No sorry, it is not. It's not even a shadow of what it could/should have been. T2, PoE and Grim Dawn are all better games than this trash.
I really enjoy what I have played of POE, but I don't get how you can say that game is good and this one is trash. I do like that attributes such as resists, attack speed, etc. are up to player selection rather than having to rely on a goddamn random loot table. That is one thing I'll give PoE over D3.
Still, they're both good games far as I'm concerned.
Well, how long have you played D3? What is your highest level character?
I played the sucker role and bought the silly game anyway regardless of the warning signs I saw in beta. The replay value in D3 is garbage and the more you play the more you figure this out. This has half the replay value of D2, it's horrible.
Grind gold for the AH and the overpriced gear? Corpse-hop through Inferno because of ridiculous champs that could kick Diablo's a**?
It's just not a good game, they dumbed it down so far that it's just a shell of what it should/could have been. The more I try to like this game, the more I dislike it. And it pisses me off. I put thousands of hours on D2, it was that addictive.
D3? Garbage.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the game is awesome. If I had to review the game I would give it a 7.0...at the most. One of the drawbacks being replayability. Because there isn't a ton there and yes...inferno should really be referred to as wtf mode. I just don't see it as being that bad or maybe I should say it pretty much ended up being about what I expected. Then again there isn't an H&S I would ever play as much as you say you did D2 so clearly you enjoy the genre a lot more than I.

There hasn't been a game of any genre that I've played that much, it was that good. So to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. They had an awesome model to work from and all they had to do was take the best from D2 and expand on it. Instead, they went the opposite direction, I don't even recognize this as a Diablo game. It's so far from what D3 should have been, it's sad.
I would agree with you on the score for someone new to the Diablo series but for long time veterans I'd give it a lower score, perhaps a 6. The core of what made Diablo great is gone. They gutted what made D2 great and replaced it with generic, bland gaming.
On top of the hours I put on D2, I waited ten years for this game and to get this inferior quality product goes beyond disappointment. Blizzard just isn't what they used to be. Gone are the days of quality products with the "not until it's ready" motto attached. Now it's sadly, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!".

yeah they're usually smarter than those who get hacked... But that's just because people in most cases don't bother checking the true link in their mail box if it looks like a blizzard mail or they usually go to fishy sites and aren't really aware of the real threat...
I've never been hacked nor had any of my accounts on any game/forum/website etc. been compromised so far. So saying you WILL get hacked is just plain stupid... Because, no... you won't if you know how to keep your pc and personal information safe, if you don't - well... you might get hacked...
Out of my 6 friends who are playing D3 only I added the authenticator to my account... 6 of them still didn't do it and they're still intact and didn't have any issues with account...
Who cares about RMAH besides those who actually plan to use it... I'm not planing to spend a single coin on RMAH, and I probably won't even post the stuff on it. Tho, the situation right now seems like RMAH doesn't even stand a chance against gold AH, blizz will probably have to do something to encourage people to buy/sell on RMAH - and I think even then only a minority will use it.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
I am not a hater I guess but I do think the game isn't worth the price tag. I grew bored within the first week and only play with my spouce and friends.
Having said that we thought we would try to spice up the game and play hardcore to give us a feeling of excitement and to hit up some extra achievments. 2 of the 4 in the group lost characters last night from a lag spike. Because of this the hardmode is now ruled out for us because there is no reason to roll a character only to lose it to something that is out of your control and falls on the game itself. OP may not be experiencing any problems with the game but it deffinately isn't as smooth as some would have you beleive. Maybe with added expansions or somethign it would shape out to be an OK game but in my opinion as it stands now it is boring as hell and the lazy design outshines any of the good aspects of the game. I was hoping this would give me some fun untill my game of choice released but it couldn't give me a couple weeks of excitement.

I'm one of those monks that thinks the difficulty in inferno is being blown way out of proportion. As I said in another post, Inferno is exactly what I expected and hoped it might be. On the other hand, it does sound like ranged classes get it easier and it's obvious why. I don't deny that I have learned how to kite with my monk. It's just necessary, but not impossible. Rather than tweak the difficulty to be easier for melee classes, I would prefer to see some tweaks of mobs against ranged classes getting more difficult without hurting the melee crowd. Maybe by design, ranged classes are just the 'easier' class to play in hell and inferno.
Again, I like where monk is at right now. It took me some time to find a perfect build and good enough gear to be happy with it. This just makes sense to me from any ARPG standpoint though. I wouldn't have any reason to farm for gear if I could just beat everything in the first couple weeks on the first try. I am really hoping inferno keeps me going for months trying to optimize my setup for a handful of different encounters. I will be really disappointed if Blizzard just caves in and makes it easier before I can beat it in it's current state.

Yeah I think they just need to tweak some affixes. Too many hurt melee a bit too much and can be avoided by ranged. Mortar is really the only anti ranged affix while invuln, molten, exploding corpses, etc. etc. etc. are all painful to melee. They seem to be balancing a good bit so I think it will work out. I can't wait to get my monk up there.

I think one of the most legitimate arguments I've heard is about playing a melee class that shouldn't have to kite. When people play a melee class, I can totally understand the fact that they expect to stay in melee range.
Oddly enough, I usually play a ranged class like a mage, hunter, ranger, etc. I think maybe I got lucky on my first choice to try a melee and end up with a variation of ranged kiting and quick teleporting in to range, then quick escaping again. It's almost exactly how I played a couple of other classes but never a melee class. So unfortunately, I'm hoping for them to keep a class the way it is when it's not playing as expected by a lot of people (or at least the more vocal minority). I wouldn't be surprised if they change it in a way that forces me to play a ranged class just because of my playstyle.

Ideally noone should be required to kite, not 24/7, not even on a dh which is currently under much flak because it is best suited for this playstyle having multiple 80% slows and mines. Yes, speed is for ranged a dangerous affix
If you are in dire need of that kind of gameplay, wow pvp and frost mages is that way
I was promised to kill hordes of monsters and to feel powerful, i dont, not even at the end of act 2 inferno.
I dont see myself actually replaying the game once i, somewhere in the future, kill diablo on inferno after grinding for gear, err, GOLD, every act. That was supposed to be one of the strong aspects of the game...

Flame on!
Yep, my main in wow was a frost mage so I think that's where I got in to that routine and played it like that for years. It sounds weird for me to compare my monk with my frost mage, but that's exactly how I play it and arguably very similar to the 'glass cannon' of a mage when you are fighting elite inferno mobs. If I don't have some way to interrupt, heal, or stun off cooldown, I know I need to gtfo and come back when I do. It works well, but it can definitely be slow. I don't have a problem with slow since I'm on the last difficulty, barring hardcore which I doubt I will play.
It's ironic, because a lot of old D2 players would find your positives negatives:
The lack of smoothed progression and reliance on AH is not something positive for many of us.
The ridiculously low drop rate of legendaries is not fun; having to run butcher inferno 100+ times, or open chests if you like to max/min is not fun, because the rate of return is so terrible.
There are people who have played for 100+ hours and not seen one legendary drop. It was obviously done intentionally to expoit the RMAH once it launches, or doesn't.
To each his own.
That having been said, they also haven't innovated much in combat, or with respect to the gameplay mechanics. It's more, or less isomorphic to the old d2 and other ARPG games.
More irony in that they have basically not innovated, yet stripped some of the core features that made the ARPG genre interesting to many of its fans.
Look, I like change, I didn't want a D2 with better graphics, but I also didn't want a WoW that was created to exploit people i.e. a b2p p2w game.
Greed made this game mediocre at best and bad design decisions killed it for those who were looking for something with good replay value.

yeah they're usually smarter than those who get hacked...

Okay, I can understand where you're coming from. Sure if I was looking forward to this game as much as you I might feel the same way. I have played all of them but never got real into them.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
First you attack the reader, then you counter attack an atack that they have yet to make.
A good way to start a fight?
Go looking for one.
Side note: Sounds like you already pretty thoroughly trounced Diablo 3, and in less than a month. I mean 2 toons to level cap? That seems kinda fast.
repeat to urself 100 x " i have to connect the internet and blizzard servers to play alone...."
then... " why not a LAN mode to play with my friends?"
then.. "why so shallow and stupid?"
why i need to accept and pay for this, helping to legitimate more shady business in video games world
I'm one of those monks that thinks the difficulty in inferno is being blown way out of proportion.
