That should definitely run the game well at high settings. Whether it runs everything at completely maxed settings depends greatly on how high they allow you to turn settings--and what your idea of "highest" settings is.
i have a similar setup (better CPU), and in BWE1, i most definitely could not run all the areas of the game smoothly on highest settings. however, IF the game is GPU-optimized for BWE2, it should run great. cant wait to see what theyve done.
if the game in this beta use more GPU you will have np in play with max setting 1080p, but if is still cpu bound will depend.
me with i3 2120 (+hd6850) i was play very smooth with everything on max 1080p on WvW, but i know people with much more better pc with very low fps.
so until game is full optimized no one can say if your pc will play at max . dont need to worrie much because when game release you will be able to play with everything on max very easy, that GPU have amazing power GW2 will be np
That's good to hear. If I couldn't run this game great I would have to blame the game engine lol. I know GW2 is nice looking but its not ground breaking in the graphical department. It would be odd if I couldn't play GW2 max yet I can max out crysis2 or metro 2033.
Does anyone know if this would run GW2 with no fps lag what so ever?
AMD FX-8120(8x3.4Ghz)
GTX 570 Superclocked
Memory 8GB
Without a problem, even with a beta client i could use High to ultra settings on my i5 with a 530gt ( very weak graphic card), this game is really well optimized but lets see in the next beta where the GPU will make more of a diference

My system is almost the same, but I'm running a Phenom II X6 @ 4.03 Ghz. During the first Beta Weekend, I had smooth frames on almost max setting in almost every circumstance and environment. However, there were some occassions where I may have dipped to 20 fps. At that time, they had warned that the game was heavily CPU bound, that high end GPUs wouldn't offer much additional benefit, but that that was the result of there being very little optimization at that point. They will be optimizing the client for launch and there are indications that the BWE2 client will benefit from some optimization.
So, I'm expecting to have essenstially lag free FPS at very high settings for launch and hoping that optimization for the BWE2 client will bring us a lot closer to that expectation.
The settings I turned down or off were Shadows, (from Ultra to High), and I turned off the Depth of Field. I didn't do any testing to see how much impact different settings had on performance, since I figured it was pointless with an unoptimized client. If things are more optimized for this BWE, I'll try to test some of the settings for their performance impact.
If they can optimize the game properly, that setup should run it maxed out without a doubt. As i can run Crysis 2 nearly maxed on my ancient GTX 275 and phenom II x4 955 BE, but judging by the last beta, no, as it only uses 1 core and nothing else.

the optimization process hasn't started yet, really, so it's safe to say game will run even better.

I'd say, without any problems.
