Soloing Aq4

SaigonshakesSaigonshakes Member Posts: 937

Hey all. I havent been able to find a group for the Freeport Aq4 (edgewater drains). I was wondering if anybody knew what level I might have to be so that the mobs requires, mucus slugs and murkwater veterans, would be grey to me.

im not sure saigon, but im getting my computers tomorrow (tuesday, according to the tracking numbers), what server are you on, im gonna be on befallen. if your on my server maybe we can do something together sometime, we would be able to group with the new mentor system they are adding soon.

You need a group. The mobs are all in large groups and there are dangerous mobs on the way. It's good XP, just put up LFG, or maybe help out some AQ3 group and see if some of them want to come do 4 with you.

The dungeon needs work, and it's not currently a very popular zone. That being said, we got great loot drops while we were down there doing it. There are also some other quests in that dungeon. It was good XP and we all got our quests done and stuck around to kill more mobs just for XP.

I think they need to make more quests that lead you in there or something, because it's almost always empty.

It's the same way on the "good" AQ4.  Crypt of Betrayal is a rough zone. There's no conceivable way to do AQ4 without a group that's at least "decent".  And you're probably going to die a couple times anyway.  I might tune COB a little to make it work a bit better for the level it's intended ... at least thin out the mobs nears the zones.  Now I need to go look for the skeletal druid in there ... and I hear he hangs out mostly near the rougher zone-in.  Should be fun =)

OTOH, once you finish the good AQ4, you can solo AQ5, so you get a little respite =)

Yeah Ive just been having a hell of a time getting a group down there. I've been at it for quite awhile now. Doing Aq1-3 was a breeze because there were always quite a few people at Fallen gate. I wish they would have put Aq4 in Nekutolos Forst or something. Oh well, the wait continues...

Yeah Jay we should group up sometime. My main is on Oggok but I actually have a lvl 6 dwarf fighter on that I just started on Befallen. If your on, try sending a tell to Delgar.

Hmm, I have some other friends on Befallen already. Since I have the extra slots from the station access pass now, if you guys are going to be there maybe I will put a toon there when I have some time (as if, lol).

A while back I was thinking that if we all weren’t time-committed to all our guilds it might be fun to have an MMORPG.COM based guild on some server.

That would be awesome to start a mmorpg.com guild on befallen. You should, if you have the time, create a toon on Befallen Wickes. Me, you, and Jay could wreak havoc on that server.

If its anything like the Qeynos AQ 4 it will be a real pita to get a group. Actually the problem I ran into most was getting a HEALER for the group. The zone is in a very isolated place that most don't go too unless they are soloing or they are there for the Armor quest. That makes for slim pickings.

And I really doubt you would be able to solo it. Come to lava, you can always group with me, hehe. ::::17::

Maybe you should consider playing a different game, one that you might enjoy.

Obviously you are unhappy about the forced grouping mentality that SOE has structured EQ2 around.

    I completely understand your dismay.

If your still going on about a slash command launching your web browser to the pizza hut site OUTSIDE the game you really need to get over it. Its really sad if that is the best arguement you can come up with. Its getting really ignorant that we who DO play EQ II and like it can't even have a discussion amongst other players about the game without some idiot SOE hater having to come and in and take childish little pot shots in the middle of the discussion.

Apparently you don't like EQ II, deal with it.

I'll make a little guy there when I get a chance.  I guess they made it even faster to level up in today's patch, which will help, so maybe as extra time permits we can play around a bit, particularly if we can get some other board guys to join us.  And we could make a little just-for-fun guild there too.

ATM I'm supposed to be working on expanding my main guild on Mistmoore, but I've just been so lazy lately =)  Years of guild work in EQ1 sort of wore me out on that.

My guild (Desolation) on Befallen is made up of almost all mmorpg.com members, anyone coming to Befallen is more than welcome to join. :)

I would love to Kunou, but I honestly would never use the toon if I made one there, I have all my chips in lavastorm with crafting, friends and the whole 9 yards. I picked it because it was very light capacity when I started and I knew there was still some server problems then because they hadn't started the account transfers yet.

First to Jorev, obviously you havent seen amny of my posts beacause I love Eq2 so far. I enjoy grouping more than solo so what you said is pretty much voided.

Yeah I havent really played my toon on Befallen a whole lot becuase I didnt really know anyone. If we got some low lvl toons going I think we could have fun.

If i was you i wouldn't even bother with the AQs, i bought better armour than you win on those quests. Plus it takes so long to get a group to do them, you pretty much outrun the usefulness of the items you get. Yet another reason i dumped this terrible game.

I will put a little guy on Befallen as soon as I get a chance.  As far as your offer, Kunou, I hesitate to put a toon that won't get much attention other than some occasional fun in a "real" guild.  I.e., it's unlikely I would ever level him up much due to commitments on Mistmoore ... it would more be an occasional social thing.

And Matt_UK, what armor was that you bought which was better than the AQ stuff?  Class and level would be enlightening also, since I am not aware of any better equipable armor which can be purchsed for my class or my friends classes at any level close to when one generally does the AQs =)  In short, the AQs are well worth doing.

No clue what your talking about, the crafted items that you can buy at that level is about equal too or less then the quest items and I finished all my quests BY level 26, including the tunic. Only a few of the places I had trouble getting groups, and even then I still managed to get them that same day, I just had to wait awhile for a group capable enough to handle the pulls.

Not to mention the fun factor involved in the quests, I have stated before how much I love the armor quest idea at 20. It sounded to me like you wanted to grind levels and not be bothered with alittle questing. So you dumped a ton of coin to buy armor instead of questing it, and you wonder why it was boring...
