If blizzard can patch within days the same content in different languages, I am sure a smaller more dynamic outfit could do just as well as them, Id even bet a cake on it.
And what are your thoughts on Blizzard having much more money therefore they can have a devoted infrastructure capable of make those fast changes?
As opposed to a small company that, though agile, must spread their resources to other projects?
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

I cannot help myself, watching game companies fail at westernizing korean grinders that crash and burn and go f2p within a year is a personal hobby of mine
Suck to be you since no game has been like that yet.
aion did not close most of it's western servers and did not go f2p in your universe?

Last time i checked that happened after 3 year not 1 unless you can't count in your universe.

ah, okay, my bad, 3 years. it was however much bigger title, quite hyped and backed by ncsoft money and with like 3m subscribers in asia when the western version launched
tera won't take nearly as long, it's already on life support in korea
Here's some information from the newest patch notes for TERA, the trend continues in NA and another game is becoming easy, games just need to keep getting easier for us don't they? I mean, we are so inept we can't even click a mouse properly or open our eyes according to NA/EU developers, where's the fun in a challenge right?
Edit:Im not sure if this patch was first introduced in Korea, who knows, but regardless it's upsetting to me to see anything being made easier that is purely based on player skill. Nerfing RNG makes sense, but I hate seeing bosses being nerfed.
In Balder’s Temple, the attack power of Guardian of the Relic’s laser attack has been reduced by approximately 20%.
In Fane of Kaprima, the attack power of Kaprima’s whirlwind slash after its scythe attack has been reduced by approximately 20%, and it no longer casts a bleeding debuff. Egrecia now has approximately 20% fewer HP, and the sphere damage of nearby devan mercenary priests has been reduced by about 30%.
huh, isnt that what the hardmode is for, imo its not skill based, having better gears is all it takes to clear all dungeons.

Shows how much you know about the game lol. I'll give you full +12 armor and go try face roll anything and tell me how that works out for ya lol, here a hint you die in about 5 hits.

Five hits? Before this nerf any class but a lancer on HM can get one hit ko'ed by either the spin or the laser.
I think they reduced these just enough to not be one hit KOs, which is kind of upsetting to me.
Translating does not take much time at all when it comes to written text. 2 languages especially when translators are trilingual german-french-english, as many are in europe, does not take long at all. EU commission documents which can be several hundred pages long are translated in a couple of hours.
Translating the amount of content in the last few US patches does not take 1 month. I know what that content is, it would take a translator under a week to do it for just the text. If they need voice actors to translate the vocal stuff, they need to just do that later and get the content patches live with english voice acting and french/german written translation.
TERA isn't just localized, it's culturalized, moreso than AION or any other MMO that has gone that route. That takes significantly more time because the goal isn't just to translate the text but contextualize it, colloquialize it and infuse cultural references. This requires not just translation expertise and a working knowledge of both languages, but a strong familiarity with the literature, cultural references and slang of the target language.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre

Or they could just give us the content that NA players have had for a month already.
Guess what is the better choice for a subscription based MMO.
Really, get some kind of reality check. The "localised" vs "culturalised" thing is total bull. It's an excuse, nothing more.
I'm bilingual french-english and speak enough german (and know enough slang) to translate Tera's NA patches in under a week. C'est pas dur franchement, c'est juste que Frogster sont incapables.
I'm talking from the perspective of someone who really enjoys the game - and based on my own experience of Frogster and waiting for patches, and Frogster's inability to get basic things right like billing, server uptime and communication, I am considering not playing Tera EU any more.
You can bet that someone who is not enjoying the game as much as me would be thinking along the same lines.

I was thinking of normal lol, haven't have time to do any hm because of school. no time for money to +9 my gear.

Tera was released 25th of January 2011 in Korea. This content is old and old content gets nerfed. Another possible reason.
Except the content that was nerfted was released in late march of 2012 in Korea.....
