So sad you guys didnt post these positive pvp experiences in the thief section of the official forums. Those read like a total whine fest, to the point of massive threads asking to completely redo the thief class, and initiative mechanic. Bleh.
yea was kinda joking.. someone asked me on facebook how many mobs I could fight at once and I was like well.. my ranger can generally handle 1 elite or 2 normals, my warrior can handle 2 elites, or 1 elite and 3 normals, and my rogue well my rogue can handle 1/3rd of 1 mob...
Truth is the thief is most effective not soloing.
Strange ... I had absolutely no problem to handle packs of 3 mobs that were 2 levels higher than me, both in BWE1 and BWE2.
The trick is to use the vanish ability extensively, as it turns skill #1 into a 5 to 10 times more powerful ability.

And are there any usefull WvWvW siege builds for thieves? Or will tehy end up complaining thatit is unfair that everyone allways wanders ingroups through the battlegrounds of WvWvW.
I am wondering the same thing.

Thief destroys really bad players and players will terrible builds or other glass cannon builds. I've already seen the transition to more toughness and survivability builds which makes thief even worse when it comes to killing players. Currently, thief is good for running away from people and capturing points. The skill tiers royally screwed up thief pre-40 compared to what was possible before.
I utterly destroy other badly built players with glass cannon builds but against a good warrior or ranger, forget it. Apply poisons and use your CC while your team kills them.
Thief is really fun with a group build in WvW though. It's still my favorite class and i'll adapt to what i need to, but it needs a lot of work to be on par with ranger and warrior.
the only class that is OP IMO is the warrior. insane damage + high health and immobilize.
in fact warrior be OP have lot and lot of topics talk about it...
Actually the one class that can currently stand toe to toe with the Warrior is the Engineer...
Bwwwaaaaahhhahhhahhhahhhhhaaaaaaaa.... haaa... ha... no, you're right. Warriors OP.
.... Elementalist, Guardian, and Ranger all have adequate means of dealing a warrior. Elementalist and Rangers can easily kite the Warrior to death (even with Bolas and Stuns and Cripples, as their builds remove them fast enough).
This is why I don't play PvP in any MMORPG that have classes. This is also why I don't like from PvP in any PvE oriented MMORPG. PvP just leads to nerfs and ruining my fun in PvE when class that I am playing is suddenly nerfed to useless piece of shit.
PvP is excellent in PvP oriented games. If it does have some meaningful results - instead of being copy pasted rape PvP arena where whining kids are playing with each other. Like EvE, Battlefield 3 or maybe Ultima.

Someone in my guild made a good point concerning classes including the thief and their apparent OP'ness with some skills. A lot of it isn't down to the classes or the skills themselves but rather the stacking of crit damage. At the moment you can stack to silly amounts though the trait trees (one row on each class gives 1% crit damage per point) combined with stacking in gear. It's the reason we're seeing 15k backstabs, 10k hundred cuts, 10k illusionary duelist etc etc.

Yep, people should have a look through the beta videos on Team Paradigm's site. Being my first beta weekend i thought there was a lot of imbalance at first until i started playing in the organised tournaments and came across them. There are some ridiculous builds for every single class that makes them outstanding and it showed when playing those guys. Needless to say i went to their site and started watching their vids and what i brought away from the experience is that most of us just don't have a clue when it comes to playing GW2 classes right now as we don't have enough experience with them. Some stuff is obviously broken but all of them can be powerhouses.

Melle ranger should have no issue with warriors. Again, it's about the build.
