I had fun and things worked great other than a few visual glitches. Once they do some more optimizing I'm thinking it is ready! It could be launched today and be better than a lot of working titles out there now! Can't wait!!!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
The game is stable, the content is still very limited, and I managed to break at least 7 events in Gendarran Fields.
So you are the one to blame for breaking things! Good job moosecatlol! Anyway, what do you mean by content? I'm not arguing I was curious because if you compare the game to say Tera, it has oodles more content.

Apart from a few server drop outs the game is dead solid perfect, just some tweaks to GPU optimization and it's ready to go they could launch now and it still would be the smoothest Mo I've ever seen yet.
Cant really tell, but there was very little DCs/downtime compared to last BWE. Only DC like 4 or 5 times over the weekend and i could just jump straight back in. Still some work to do there but the improvement from the first BWE is huge. The tournaments in PvP stopped working like once, but they just added that into the game so was expecting some bugs there. Also the PvP was down for like 2-3 hours at a point, think they posted on twitter that they were fixing a bug.
Did not play too much PvE this beta, but what I did ran smoothly and had no issues. Same for WvW had nice FPS at full graphics some lagg here and there but no real issue compared to like Aion sieges.
BWE's are mainly used for difficulty balancing, performance tuning, public feedback etc. Their internal testing programs will probably be a few builds ahead already and in the BWE build certain things are disabled even though they might be in the same state of readiness as what we get to play (for example Sylvari / Asura zones).
We've also seen how many changes they're able to get ready enough for us to poke at between 2 BWE's.
So it could go quite fast (depending how far ahead and close to being ready their internal builds are) but it could also take quite some time still if they're not happy with the feedback and datamining results from the 2 BWE's so far.
I think it is closer than we think. Remember they still have closed beta testing going on so who knows what is really done. It is easy to assume but I feel they are using the BWE to tweak the game on more types of hardware to see what is going on.
For example we only had one of what, 10 dungeons? We only had access to one level 30 zone, and were missing 2 whole races, each of which have their own story line that has to be designed or polished. Not to mention there's still a lieutenant that we haven't seen yet, nor has he been named.
*Also, sorry for breaking the events* I couldn't help it, I was trying to use my air field + blast to give more swiftness to the npc's, but I ended up stunning them and they would get stuck, break their script, and go invulnerable or die and never come back. Took me a while to figure out what was happening. ¯(°_o)/¯
I had no interest in the game but jumped in anyway, now I am eagerly awaiting release.
I would say that it could release as is and that would be widely acceptable, but there are plenty things that they could spend the next few months tweaking.
I don't think they will release the game during the summer, so September would be the next logical time for release, maybe doing 2 more beta weekends in the months leading up to that. Any later than september and you are competing with console season, I dunno if they want to do that being a B2P game, it sort of falls into the same bracket for sales as those other big releases in Oct/Nov
I dont blame you for thinking that the betas actually influence release date or bring any new stuff up involving the client and the servers. I am pretty sure Anet allready knew about these things.
First off the Pre-purchase was a tool Arenanet used to make direct money needed for further development. There still is some work to be done in the places and things we havent seen yet.
Seccondly, what i have seen so far is as ready for release as any MMO has ever been including WoW and LotRO, so the decision about a release date will be fully marketing base. Personally i would plan mid Oktober, alllowing them to both make big sales in Oktober as a huge 2nd wave of sales around Christmass. Offering a new MMO mid summer just isnt an option, to many casualls only play through the winter seasons.
I really think that Arenanet also has a great buiseness plan behind their release date.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Yeah, as for the ratio game shown/game ready, I think we can be pretty sure of two things: 1) they won't show everything in BWE, and I think if they don't release the two last areas before launch it will be just a great marketing strategy (no "boohoo I feel it's just the same all over again" posts in forums = win"). I mean the goal of beta is not to show the entire stuff -just for a neutral example, TSW is showing two areas, maybe a third someday, prior to launch, and D3 showed very little also 2) there will be bugs at launch. In such a big environment, with SOOOO many possible skill/environment reactions, you just can't expect everything to be absolutely perfect at launch, event though the biggest bugs will be found and erased by the QA teams.
So once we know that, I think the servers as they are now work, the basic elements (UI and general game mechanics) are playable and enjoyable. The brunt of the work for the month will be finishing class and weapon balance (hard to say how much QQ and how much really needs a fix, but one more month seems useful) and tutorials/help for beginners (which doesn't take very long) as well as pure bug-fixing. Smaller features might wait a bit til after launch.
I think a release at the start of july is playable, like july 5-10th (like Starcraft WoL). The thing is release in middle of summer is not done, and 2 more months is a long time for purchasing customers. It will also send the game at another moment (closer to MoP, Archeage and others probably starting Beta) while the comparison with TSW (good game, but definitely not for the same audience, and P2P) and D3 (botched launch, good hack'n slash but not a revelation) would make it the game of the summer for PC online gaming.
It doesn't matter when it gets released. People will complain regardless. It's to hard. It's to easy. I'm 80 and there is nothing to do. Classes are unbalanced. I want FFA why doesn't it have FFA. Or whatever else they want to complain about.
If they released next month I'd be happy as a pig in mud, but I expect a few more months atleast.

It really does make you lose faith in humanity doesn't it.
Considering we haven't even seen 2 races or their starter areas, I'd say it's still 3-4 months off. The game did show vast improvement from the last BWE however.

Indeed. As much as I wish it would release soon, I expect late September the earliest.

Unfortunately didnt get to play BW due to being on holliday (damn Anet plannining)
But people that were in BW, what do you think....
Is the game getting close to release, or you think we will see several more BWs?
Stop trying to speculate and just wait until they give the details for it. We all know they want a polished game, so they have no plans of rushing it. Have patience like the rest of us.
IMO they need two more BW. Having played in the previous two, you can def say there were improvements. With that said, some of professions need some help. Let me name a few: Mesmer (clone AI needs help), Thief (needs help all around), Guardian (range option). Some professions stood out this beta like the Ranger and Warrior. Let me also point out that it would be ncie to have the camera pan farther out and the overall speed of the races is rather slow (not withstanding a professions ability to increase speed, which negates another, maybe more important skill, because u took up a slot to run 10% faster).
Even with what I said the game is a joy to play and I would gladly play it today as a release product. Lets just hope Anet nails these professions.
I thought the game was planned for release later this month, June 26th?
ArenaNet has said that all the "release dates" by various retailers were merely placeholders/speculation on the retailers part and nothing official.
I am thinking a September release after 2-3 more BWE's. The official forums still had a lot of bugs to check out----not major ones, just a lot of small issues.

About 5 or so more beta weekends is my guess.

Hard to say, because we simply have no idea how advanced development is on the areas of the game not in the beta events.
What is there is in pretty good shape, I'd say we could be looking at a September release if the un-revealed areas are well progressed.
Hard to say.

Also , usually no games are released in mid summer ... if i am not mistaking

I figure mid-July release.
Next week BWE 3, 28 june release!
I'll say another 2-4 months minimum.

From what I've played, they could release it next month; it was more stable and polished than some of the released MMOs out there.
Though there is the stuff we haven't seen anything about, of course.... So, hard to know.
I had no interest in the game but jumped in anyway, now I am eagerly awaiting release.
