Let's just say this game is pretty relevant to my interests - being an avid GodLikeProductions and AboveTopSecret reader, as well as an Ancient Aliens watcher, I can relate to most of the myths in the game. It just seems the setting and stories are so fresh and amazing. The other thing going for the game is the fact that I have never played WoW, or SWTOR, or any of those other MMOs so I'm ready for a grind.
I haven't read too much about the PvP though. I guess I might try it out with my key tomorrow, but I'd like to hear some impressions from people who already have tried out the PvP aspect. How does it work? How is it?
Literally the only things I know so far is that some people say "it's amazing" and a fight club type arena is present.
However, according to this trailer:

Are there huge battlegrounds where you can battle for control? If so, how does this work? Is there a player limit cap, is it server wide, etc?
Thanks!

Only video ive seen so far dude. The last beta event will have pvp in it thought! then there will be much more info!
The pvp area's are really big and are perpetual. From my understanding they are not inter server.
So far the pvp hass not really been seen in game play, only by vid in interviews or such. There are going to be two styles of pvp in tsw both with both being tracked, and having buffs or effects on the world at large. The battleground style of instanced pvp is looking to be alot like many other forms of combat with having objectives (like king of the hill, or capture the flag.) that give you points that will further you completion of the bg an winning it. These styles of pvp most likely will give those that partake an win in them a buff or such that will boost their proformance, but weither this would be solely a pvp buff or a overall buff is still to be seen even the buf could very for winning. Than you have the more persistent style warzone/s that you faction fights to take points of interest in, and try to gain full control of the zone to gather an increasing dominion over the world at large. The fight clus are kinda like tournements with with standing (from what i understand.), and are pretty much free for all regardless of faction you are with. All of these along with much of the pve content is tracked via a leaderboard as well to show how one fairs against the other players in the game.
One other thign to keep in mind is the pvp combat will be vastly more grouup oriented in tsw in that thre is no open world pvp, and most all the pvp is objective based. As such the fact that your abilities you choose both active an passive will be effected by what abilities your teammates, or enemies use or possess. As such running with groups of players, and using stratagies will yield much better results compared to trying to pvp alone, and also much safer.
3 styles the Fight Clubs. Think Dalaran sewers, but 4 or 5 times larger with line of site breaks and free for all. There are 3 one in each main city.
We don't get to see PvP until the final beta week just before release. I have heard from some more quiet sources that it is uber phenomenal and that the three factions works brilliantly. Some reckon that the persistent style war zone is going to even outclass the old DAoC RvR and has much more intricate and compelling features.
Yes an no in that i look at them being more like smaller style bgs or closer to arenas than a stand-alone pvp style, mostly compared to how fleshed out the actual two other styles of pvp are (bg an warzone.) an how much they affect the world an such too. In many ways the fightclubs are like training or test pits for players to train, and learn to pvp with a new build without actually getting into somethgin that might really cause issues with the larger tsw world (since losing in a bg or warzone can have a big effect from what has been said.). I even see arenas in wow to be more of a sub-set of wow bgs in many ways, and so here i place them together. Now if the fightclubs or a single player/small group pvp fight set up that actually determined somethign like a faction or world chapion that got buffs or vanity rewards, even special quests than it would seem more like a stand-alone style (not too mention different rules or such would help.). Fightclubs just feel like test or training places over actual places you are ment to have meaningful pvp.
