Gamestops well known for knowing release dates for games before anyone else.
Wait, its the opposite of that, gamestops well known for having crappy placeholder dates that people think are real.
Unless the devs/publisher of a game tell you the date, chances are its not reall, especially if its from gamestop, which is a crappy company to begin with.

Probably it isn't the case, but 28th of August would have been nice. 2 days after my Birthday :P
all shops have different release dates...yust becuz they need one before being able to sell preorder games, it isnt immediatly the right date

That is only because the input mask on game release dates in Gamestop's computer system doesn't allow the correct answer of "when it's ready".

I got a stress test email yesterday for the 27th of June for a 4 hour period (Right in the middle of my workday, grr). August is a bit to far out imo since most AAA betas I have been a part of usually go from a stess to another beta then a headstart. Admittingly it has been awhile since I have had the time to be a part of a AAA beta so things maybe different.

I believe it was june 28 for awhile now August 28, so I am sure it is a PH or something, that said GS did have the right SWTOR release date, which was posted then slammed by the masses.
August 28 seems plausible BUT that does not make it official until Arenanet said. Until then we have to take it as a place holder, gamestop has been doing that for years now, it was november 2010, november 2011 etc. But august 28 does seem like it will be a good time to release the game because its after the 3rd and final book and it gives them 2 months after the stress test to see whether their servers are up to stuff.

Well, for the longest time that had june 26th as the placeholder date, now they seem to have a new one.
Already release date spec in other threads. Also, ANet hasn't released or confirmed anything yet.
