Stress test tomorrow, what will you do?

Myself I kinda want to learn to play another class in sPvP. Played a little bit of guardian and necro, and got around 100 matches with warrior. Either going to look into elementalist, necro or ranger. Not sure. Those four hours will pass too fast Im afraid..

  • I haven't done much sPvP and I figure the short duration is a good time to get some throw away time to get the feel for it.

I haven't PvP'd at all yet so I'm probably going to try it out on my Ranger for most of the time. Honestly not really sure where to start though.

Nothing. Just going to wait until launch. I don't want to spoil the game for myself anymore. I have other games to keep me occupied.

I'm still not sure. Do I want to try to get my 28 Elementalist from 28 to 30, so I can hop into AC30 with BWE3? Do I want to play a little more of some other professions I like, but haven't played as deeply as I'd like? Give Engineer a spin, as the only profession I haven't tried yet? Focus on screen shots? Finally do some WvW? Play some SPVP?

I'm so torn. So, so, so much to do and so little time. The 4 hour Stress Test will push my play test time to 85+ hours and I still haven't done many things I planned on doing during the beta process.

I will be working!  Damned responsibilities always get in the way of my gaming.  I'd probably just WvWvW for a few hours if it was available.

same...although may log in just to add to the "stress":)

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall.      This is to help them see how the servers will run. Not just to play for 4 hours.

I am sure they would love it if you would help them out.

You should be taking screenshots of the character creation and make a massive post about it with pics.

Like I said, I see zero point in this stress test. It looks to me more like a publicitiy stunt to keep people interested in between BWE's.

have to agree here since its on a wednesday a lot of people will not be able to log in due ot work. I'm sure they stressed out the servers a ton more during the last BWE than they will during these 4 hours.

The last stress test (not BWE) was in the middle of a week for a short time as well. I think it's more throwing people a bone by finding a little time to let them in and play, while tesitng out a few bug fixes before the next BWE actually goes out (if you didn't know, the client's already had several major updates between BWE2 and now)

yea perhaps... just hoping if all goes well tommorow a release annoucement will follow shortly after. Wish they did the test later in the day though would give more people a chance to get in and "stress" the servers

Ya, every stress test they've had so far has been in the middle of the week. And it's always been before some kind of large update. I have some ideas as to what this might be, but I don't want to jinx it. I really don't understand the persistance of this idea that somehow every time Anet does something it's 'just a PR stunt', when it continually isn't. Anet's PR stuff tends to be stuff like the funny promo on the 'pay 2 win water bucket'. When it comes to stuff like this, Anet actually does use it mostly for testing. They are aware of the double-standard making this somewhat public does, though.

I'm just going to WvWvW on my warrior/archer. And expect crashing issues etc, as it is normal because its a stress test which I don't mind.

I don't understand the mentality of someone who thinks nothing Anet does is a PR stunt.

Not sure where you got that idea, as I clearly put in there that they do have PR stuff. However claiming that every beta they do is a PR stunt, is a bit ridiculous. They are clearly changing a LOT from beta - beta, the only difference is people are allowed to talk about it. You don't see people claiming closed beta is a PR stunt for other games, even when people break the NDA.

I guess I don't understand the mentality of someone who only sees what he chooses to believe is real.

Simple, because every time we recieve news of the new beta, we get posts whining about it being a PR stunt. Why are we even arguing over this? You can clearly see it on these forums if you spend any amount of time here. We've gotten posts (and in some cases threads) about this ever since they announced the first public beta.
