I hear it all but compared to a night down the pub playing an mmo is cheaper  ^^

    costly...

that is hysterical. other than sleeping I dont think i have ever had a hobby that was cheaper

Not everyone is rolling in the $$$$.

    To each there own right?

he was saying that other people tell him that one of the problems of gaming is that its costly.

its not costly by any stretch of the imagination.

$50 for client and $180 for a years subscription is quite expensive for one video game.

Even if you get a thousand hours of gameplay out of it, it's still only one game.

23 cents an hour for entertainment? That's a fantastic deal in my opinion.

First of all I doubt you play all day everyday.

Second, $230 bucks... for that price I can buy a new gaming platform or like  fifty games off steam.

Third, As much as people on this forum like to believe that MMOs are special, they are not. A mmo is just a regular game within the video gaming sub-genre. Its no better or worse than any other type of video game.

If you walk up to someone and say "hey want to play this New game it costs 60 dollars and then to continue playing it after 30 days you have to pay 15 dollars a month forever" The majority of people will look at you like you're a crazy person.

Hell dude... A buddy of mine bought Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout NV and Skyrim for his Xbox. He paid less than 80 bucks for those games. He's played them every night for 8 months. If you walked up to him and told him to pay 230 bucks for one game he would spit on you.

There is only one reason to play: fun. If you don´t have fun you don´t really need any reason not to play.

    Don't make things overly complicated.
