Ok, so now that the game is released for "realsies" my account was deactivated, saying that I have to enter a proper key, not just a pre-order key. What the hell? I guess it was a scam.

I find it rather surprising that for a 15 dollar or less savings people are willing to send an unknown vendor a copy of their personal ID. Coupled with the fact they get your CC info and it just seems like an opportunity rife for fraud. There is no logical reason for this firm to sell it for so much under the standard market value that I can reason.

They're grey market - they buy retail copies cheap as shit from some Asian country or something, scan the keys and then (supposedly) destroy the boxes, allowing them to sell for ridiculous prices. Also, I used PayPal and did not give them any personal details (you're able to make a purchase without registering) so I think I'm safe.
EDIT: As for the reason I bought from them? I'm cheap as hell. Anyway, I've contacted support but if I'm to trust their Facebook page they won't answer. Oh well, it was only 35 bucks. Could've been worse.

Iv never bought any keys online b4, not even from the main sellers like direct2drive or steam, I always just bought hard copies or what ever there called from gamestop.
I figure you may save some but if it happens just once you get taken then all you saved previously is nullvoid.
Honestly you are now the exception, which is fine. There is a big difference still between standard digital sales outlets and key selling outlets though. Most pc users now don't consider Gamestop anymore. Gamestop doesn't even carry half of what I bought over the past several years.
As for buying keys, I was/am nervous about it. My rule has been, I will consider it if it's a SP game only. That way I install the game, play it, there isn't a need to log on to a site to play it (aka check verification). Once I have the game playing in SP, I'm done, no concerns. With a online game you never know when/if that key will be brought into question and turned off.
As stated these are games bought in Asia/Russia for cheap and resold. Some games then go into that countries language and you have to patch/hack it back to english. But if SP once you got it, you're home free.
Just want to ask, anyone that brought the game off this site. Is funcom now telling you your code was only a pre-order code and its now run out and you need to enter a retail code?
Was this code from this site a pre-order scam?....
Im getting authentication failed when trying to login and contacted support and they told me i only entered a pre-order code .

I guess it can take them time to open boxes and scan the retail key. And if they got alot of customers perhaps they don't have routines that are good enough to keep them from makin errors.

Thank you for this thread and the headsup on the deal. Myself and my spouse were able to purchase our keys for $35.63 each and play the same day!

That and as I read on the first page about needing a copy off the drivers license, I would not use this site personally.
