After playing MMO's do you find it hard to go back to non-MMO's?

Not really no... I switch between Call of Duty multiplayer and various MMO's without much trouble. Luckily, I don't seem to lose my WWII FPS edge too much...

You forgot about something.... many players play both MMORPGs and non-mmorpgs, at the same time. Play a stand alone game for 1 hour, then a mmorpg for 2 hours. Or play Counter-Strike one day, then a mmorpg the next day, etc....

So there is nothing to find "hard going back to". image

After playing MMOs, I personally think it's not hard at all to come back and play the non-mmo games. Sometimes I play UT2k4 online.

The only issue I have is fitting in my other genre: fps. In some cases I will play FPSs a whole week and then go back to my MMO. WW2O is a mix of both MMO and FPS so it sedates my cravings. I also once cut FPSs and MMOs from my life a whole 2 weeks while I beat GTA:SA.

Not really. I've always been a fan of RPG's. Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy, Baulders Gate being some of my favorite Non-MMO RPG favorites. Though I have played alot of MMO's. I usually find the time I spend with single player RPG's to be more rewarding. MMO's are probably my 2nd favorite form of gaming entertainment behind RPG's.

I think it's pretty easy to go back to regular games after playing MMO's. While I wouldn't mind seeing some graphical upgrades to single player RPGs, and maybe a smidge bigger worlds to run around in, I still love playing them (got Kingdom Hearts for Christmas).

I found one of my biggest frustrations with MMOs is that they don't end. After getting to level 42 in FFXI, I felt like I hadn't really gotten anywhere in the game still. And I'm not too big on getting the coolest loot out there, because even once I have it, the game still doesn't make me feel like I've gotten anywhere.

While I do find MMO's hard to stop playing, as I played FFXI for about 3 months after I got bored with it, I dont' mind taking a break from them for awhile. The communities do make MMOs a lot of fun, especially for people like myself who have no idea where I can go to meet anime/video game enthusiasts. And if you can find some people to roleplay with, like I'm able to do in EQ2, it'd bring an additional fun to the game. So I think both SP games and MMOs have a lot of good things, I think their merits are very different.

After reading a permadeath thread, I'm somewhat interested in the chaos that might bring to the MMO genre too.
