Downloaded LastChaos. You do need a real name and KSSN to play it. Ill register and probably will try it later on tonight. No I can't make accounts for anyone else. Using someone elses KSSN is illegal.

If I can stay off of Cabal and World2 (Not really called World2 but I can't pronounce chinese). Plus I also have the Dark and Light SOG thing coming up. If Dark and Light SOG is even half decent. I'll probably give up the Last Chaos account. (Especially if LastChaos turns out to not be good)

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

Koreans are MMO gods... They make almost all of them. It's kind of freaky. No complaints though.

No offence to koreans but things i noticed about there games are.

A.GRIND like hell mabey few quests

    B.Easy to hack/bug abuse on

C.all basicly look close to the same

D.Most come out free see reason on all above

Basicly they look like person mass making games and just throwing them out into the market for easy buck.

No dude, theres actually just alot of koreans who want to make various games. its like the modern day invention scheme, admist a bunch of mistakes, theres bound to be a few good games (Ragnarok Online is a great example of a guy with an idea making an MMORPG that became extremely popular0

NCsoft is the publisher turbo, not the developers/creators of all the games you mentioned... COH for example is created/developed by Cryptic studios.. Pwned!

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

Korea was a pioneer in some perspectives, not in the sense of Ultima Online, but Lineage and RO was pioneering from a user volume point of view. It had massive fast growth due to a receptive korean audience that gave it the money to spread into other markets, fast and independently. It also was close to China and that all fueled a market growth faster than in the US at the time (prior to WoW I'd say).

I mean, can Korea really handle like 100 mmorpg's? It feels almost like publishing a PC or Console game sort of thing......

korea has not come out with a decent game since 1997.

if i write a million books it doesn't make me own as a writer, it just means i write a bunch of crap.

the UN should ban Koreans from further saturating the MMO market with these lousey cookie cutter games.

Why does it hurt when I pee?

In my experience, apart from a very few, most of them seem to come from something like Adventure Construction Set. They have the same mechanics, the same tool bars and the same goals: grind grind grind.

2 mainstream ones that are in the US atm:Lineage 2 and RF Online. They play basically the exact same way with the only difference being that RF online actually has a decent drop rate, better than most private L2 servers. Look at the characters lol, even the elves look the same :D

Arena net is an american team funded by Ncsoft thats basically it in a nutshell i wouldn't really say GW is made by ncsoft morel ike being published by them

Both Guild Wars and City of Heroes were created by dev teams from the US. Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault are also US based i think. NCSoft is simply the Korean publisher that funds them.

Tabula Rasa is being developed in house by NCSoft Austin. The dev studio put together by Richard Garriot (aka Lord British of Ultima Fame) and his brother. Auto Assault is being developed by a group from Colorado I believe and being published by NCSoft Austin.

Garriott joined up with NCSoft after his forced hiatus from game development was up (part of the contract that he had with satan, err EA). The idea was that with Garriott behind NCSoft, Austin some of the Korean offerings like Lineage 2 would be better recieved in the west (and its doing far better than SWG atm :P) and it would provide western developers with the infrastructure in place to attract an eastern audience.
