Runescape has to be one of the best and olders MMO's still around. That being said, it needs to die.
Let me explain, the skills system in runescape is one of my favorites, it doesn't compare to what SWG's was but then again nothing does. Although very grindy, it does give the little guy the chance to move up with enough dedication. It definitly needs a better combat system, one that is less grindy, more skill based. Runescape is so damaged from the years of abuse from bots that there just aren't enough worthwhile gold sinks to get rid of all that ill-gotten wealth. I firmly believe Runescape is forever damaged from the abuse. It seems nigh impossible for someone jsut starting out, the little guy, to progress to the top of the latter. We need to let it die, and from the ashes a new game arise. A better game. A more Progessive game.
All this being said, if you know of a game such as what I described, please let us all know.

Combat upgrade solves your combat problem while also introducing lots of new gear which is a money sink, problem solved. I really have no idea why you want a game that millions play to die becuase of your own problems.
I didnt really ever play Runescape that long.. I was an EQ junkie back then. didnt even see why people enjoyed runescape, except for the fact that it was free
and let people who want to play Runescape play. Who are you to say something has to die? sheesh.
Runescape has been around too long for a combat upgrade. They can't just change it now. They need to wipe the slate clean and learn from their mistakes. Haha, And i'm the only one who matters.
Change your name to Runescape, give me power of attorney, and jump in front of a bus. I will then tell the hospital to let you die.
"I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!"
nah, that is what the spell or scroll teleport other is for. Stops a botter in his tracks. Fun stuff, and they cannot avoid it :-D
Sometimes its better to let something good fade away before it starts sitting in a diaper decaying away in its own filth and looking so raggedy and ruining the image of what once was good being frail and weak.
