What's changed?

I quit playing probably about a year a go. I've herd a lot has changed I am the game since I've quit but not how it has affected game play. How is 3 faction pvp.? I herd its lore breaking is that true? Is pvp still largely gear based? Is raid gear useless in pvp? Is it easy to grind rep? Etc

conquest is amazing but the cooldown is pretty lame. fingers crossed that fix that asap. some people don't like the merc system and say it breaks the lore, but meh. i hear there are people on both sides of the fence with valid points. i don't care so don't  pay attention. PvP is not gear based imo. it helps but as soon as you have the first set of gear you have about as much valor as the next guy. all gear has the same valor. a good player with a good PvP build will spank a poor player with BiS gear. i'm only rank 27 and top KBs and damage done in almost every WF i enter, or am at least in the top 3. the new PvP trinket works nice in PvE and some people use some PvE gear for PvP but in general they did a nice job of splitting the gear up. it's not like it was if that's what you were wondering. vengance was added to PvP gear to make sure it wasn't used in PvE and PvE gear doesn't have valor on it.

everything in game is easy to grind out imo. conquest gets you a new piece of gear every other match, and you can be doing WFs on the cooldown. inscribes and marks come from a lot of different ways so even the PvE gear isn't too bad to get anymore. farming for your resist cores for top end raiding can be kind of lame for a new player, but you can be good to in a few weeks with some dedication.

if you do come back, make sure to take advantage of the free server transfers. you've been gone a while so you may be on a low pop of trial shard now. find a high pop shard and tear it up!
