- FFA PvP
- Emphasis on Risk vs Reward
- Loot upon death
- Resource gathering and crafting based economy (heavily tied into risk vs reward).
- Time based skill system (the biggest flaw of a game such as Darkfall was its skill system, and EVE does the skill system right).
Are there anything out there kind of what I'm looking for? EVE is the closest to it that I know of but its combat system (combined with things such as local chat, unable to attack people in warp, gate camping due to gates being the movement hub, and all sorts of others things that are flawed about its movement/combat system) is just so boring I cannot be bothered.
I'm looking for a game where to become wealthy you must take huge risks (where you will die to PvP) and the successful PvPers can become wealthy. Risk vs reward.. The more risk you take (to getting killed in PvP) the higher potential reward you can gain however it's only potential since your skill/intellect is what will ultimately determine your success.
I'm tired of games where it's PvE focused and entirely based on the "get items to get better items to get better items to get better items" mantra.
I want a game that is similar to zero-sum but not entirely since the economy should expand as more content is added, more people join and more time advances so people's skill improve. I want my actions to influence the gameplay experience of those I interact with. A true sandbox.
I haven't check up on MMOGs for 2-3 years. Is there anything in development or had been released I might be interested in?
